We loved our girls family day at the spa - it’s a Christmas tradition and a wonderful way to wind down the year. The team at the spa look after you and the treatments and the pool are blissful.
The maternity massage was simply amazing, never had something like this. The aqua-mat experience was also nice, but less worthy.
The changing room is very clean but the temperature is definitely too low... English style... you never have a chance to warm up your bones.
It was all great. I had a full body massage with oils. It never felt uncomfortable and, as far as I can tell, the person doing the massage had a professional touch. I had stiff muscles and went away feeling great and relaxed.
I booked the British Tradition Spa day at the Sofitel. The spa is very well maintained & clean. I had the aromatherapy massage which was amazing. The therapist was really good & well trained. The pool, relaxation room & changing area were really clean & tidy. The only problem was that the steam room wasn’t working. However, I was offered a glass of Prosecco which was really nice of them. The package includes an afternoon tea. It was nice but nothing to shout about. Overall, it was a really good experience & I would definitely go back.
Booking through SpaSeekers was straightforward online. I was impressed that, even though I had to make two separate bookings for the two of us (one with a gift card), either SpaSeekers or Sofitel (or indeed both) grouped them together so we had our massages and afternoon tea at the same time. The spa itself was not busy at all, which made it feel a little like our own personal spa (we were there Sunday from 11am, so this might have had something to do with it.) All staff were courteous and very attentive. The spa was very clean and the facilities (hydropool, sauna, steam room) enjoyable. My aromatherapy massage was fantastic - my therapist, Mary, did a great job and was really attentive. Afternoon tea was lovely and we were able to change the menu to suit our preferences. On top of it all, the staff validated my parking at the end so there was no charge. Would definitely recommend and come again!
