Whether it's brunch, bubbles, a mid-spa light lunch or an after-spa dinner, you’ll find a menu crammed full of Welsh flavours, with dishes that change with the season. Expect succulent Conwy Valley steaks, fresh seafood and cheese boards groaning with Welsh goodies, all crafted with care. 

Popular with locals, inside the restaurant is warm and inviting, with tables overlooking the tranquil lagoon and Conwy Valley. On sunny days, the landscaped outdoor dining terrace is the place to be, where you can dine al fresco and soak up the panoramic views.

There might not be a swimming pool at Wave Garden Spa, but there is plenty of warm water to wallow in! Wave Garden Spa has indoor and outdoor vitality pools, and they’re beautifully calm and peaceful. Unwind in the hot bubbles of the infinity-edge pools, enjoying an underwater massage as you gaze out at mountain views. 

But that’s just the start of your deep-dive into bliss! Step into the Himalayan salt sauna, where pink rock salt walls create a restorative atmosphere. Outdoors you can try the Tyrolean barrel sauna, then cool off under the drench bucket shower for a true Nordic experience. The steam room, infused with natural essences, helps cleanse your skin and refresh your senses.

Choose from King and Queen rooms, or push the boat out with a stunning King suite. Each room comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering breathtaking views of the lagoon and Conwy Valley, or of the surrounding ancient woodland. You’ll find a plush bed, a sleek ensuite bathroom and a flat-screen TV. All rooms include either a rainfall shower, or a separate bath and a rainfall shower.

For spa days at Wave Garden Spa, arrival times vary so it’s best to check your booking confirmation. If you’re staying at the Ixora Hotel, you can check in anytime after 3pm. Check-out time is 11am, unless your package includes a late check out at 12pm.

Originally opened in 2021, the hotel was once the Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia before it was bought by Interesting Hotels, a group known for transforming unique properties into memorable destinations. This luxury retreat nestles beside a man-made lagoon, surrounded by mountains, forests and fresh Welsh air. 

Nestled in the heart of Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park, Ixora Hotel & Spa sits in the picturesque village of Dolgarrog. With towering mountains, lush forests and the winding Conwy River, it’s a location that feels straight out of a postcard.

Dolgarrog itself has a rich history. It was once home to the Dolgarrog Aluminium Works, which was turned into Adventure Parc Snowdonia, a groundbreaking adventure resort that featured the world’s first commercial artificial surfing lagoon. This thrill-seeker’s paradise offered surfing, climbing and zip-lining.

However, in 2022, mechanical failures forced the wave machine to shut down, and by September 2023, the park closed. Today, it’s a peaceful retreat, perfect for those looking to escape into nature.

Craving adventure? Snowdonia is a playground for thrill-seekers. Just a short drive away, you’ll find Zip World, where you can zoom down the world’s fastest zip line or bounce through underground caverns.

For a slower pace, explore Snowdonia National Park, with family-friendly walking trails and stunning scenery. Or visit Conwy Castle to climb medieval towers and imagine life as a knight.

Wave Garden Spa is a peaceful, adults-only retreat. Children under 16 aren’t permitted in the spa or hydrotherapy pools. Treatments are available for guests 18 and older, while those aged 16-17 can enjoy the thermal experiences when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

But the Ixora Hotel itself makes a fabulous base for family adventures. Zephyr’s Bar & Grill serves up kid-friendly meals to keep little appetites happy. Spacious King rooms come with a sofa bed to ensure a comfortable stay for two adults and one child, or there are adjoining rooms so you can all get comfy. 

Beyond the hotel, Snowdonia is packed with family-friendly adventures. Explore Snowdonia National Park, where gentle walking trails lead to breathtaking views. Visit Conwy Castle to climb medieval towers, or take little thrill-seekers to nearby Zip World for underground trampolining, zip-lining, and adventure courses.

Wave Garden Spa offers some accessible areas, but this excludes the pools. The Ixora Hotel provides six accessible guest rooms, ensuring a comfortable stay for guests with mobility needs. The Queen Accessible Room with Lagoon View is thoughtfully designed, featuring a roll-in shower with grab rails, lowered light switches, raised toilet seats and panic cords.

Wave Garden Spa may be a human-only retreat, but don’t fret. Ixora Hotel welcomes canine companions guests with open paws! With 34 dog-friendly rooms, your best buddy gets to enjoy a luxurious getaway too.

Dog-friendly rooms are mainly on Floor 1, making it easy for quick outside trips. Pets are welcome as long as they weigh 22 kg or less, and there’s a £50 non-refundable fee per stay. To keep tails wagging, pups can only be left alone in rooms for up to 45 minutes.

Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park is right on the doorstep, offering endless trails for walkies. After a day of mountain adventures, your furry friend can join you in public areas and even dine with you in the bar.

Wave Garden Spa at the Ixora Hotel doesn’t have its own golf course. But Snowdonia is home to some fantastic clubs, offering stunning scenery and great play. 

The championship links course at Conwy Golf Club is just 18 minutes north of the Ixora Hotel & Spa, with pristine fairways and ocean views. For something more intimate, head south to Betws-y-Coed Golf Club, a nine-hole riverside course in the heart of Snowdonia. Another great option is Penmaenmawr Golf Club, nestled between mountains and sea, offering a challenging nine-hole course with pay-and-play options, ideal for casual players.
