About

Wishing for wow-factor wellness in Wales? Spa breaks don’t come much more spectacular than the one awaiting you at The Quay Hotel & Spa. Slap bang on the waterfront in Deganwy Quay with jaw-dropping views across the mouth of the River Conwy towards Conwy Castle, its stunning setting (along with some seriously luxe leisure facilities) will tick all of your boxes.

More than just a spot to rest your head after a day of exploring, a stay in The Quay Hotel & Spa will rejuvenate both body and soul. In fact, there’s no better way to warm up after all those bracing coastal walks than with a trip to the newly-refurbished wellness area. Take a dip in the toasty indoor pool, soak in the hydrotherapy pool or take yourself on a thermal journey through aromatherapy steam rooms and a blissful selection of saunas. There are even bubbly foot spas to relax your post-hike limbs.

With the best of Wales’s coastal bounty on offer at the hotel’s Ebb & Flow Restaurant, gourmet getaways are guaranteed here. Dine on mussels and mackerel plucked straight from the river while you drink in those castle views. Enjoy a Welsh ale at the atmospherically-lit Cove Bar, or head out for sundowners on the terrace when the weather’s cooperating.

Walk off your dinner with a 40-minute dusk stroll into Conwy to see the UNESCO world heritage town up-close. For such a small town, there’s so much to do. Alongside the imposing thirteenth-century castle and its walls, independent shops on the main street bristle with life. Wales' largest seaside resort Llandudno is close by for some traditional bucket and spade fun, and you’re within a 45-minute drive of the breath-taking Snowdonia national park.

But chances are you won’t want to stray too far from the Quay Hotel’s magical spa. In this tranquil oasis you’ll find eight sumptuous treatment rooms, a relaxation room and an entire menu of Oskia rituals to relax and revive you. And just when you thought you couldn’t relax anymore, 80 sumptuous bedrooms and suites await when you’re ready to drift off to bed.

The Spa & Wellness at The Quay Hotel & Spa

If your favourite kind of spa comes with more super-luxe facilities and top-notch treatments than you can point a scented candle at, get that robe and slippers on and step right this way!

The Quay Hotel’s wellness area is a little piece of pampering heaven and it's yours to explore, cocooned in the comfort of your soft robe. You can soak in the hydrotherapy pool, breathe in some steamy, Himalayan salt-infused air, try the gentle heat of the infrared sauna or melt away tension in the traditional sauna. Complete your thermal experience in the steam room where moisture will leave your skin soft and glowing, before a few leisurely lengths of the heated pool.

But your pampering treat doesn’t end there. After you’ve fully immersed yourself in this sanctuary, you can lie back on a warm bed in a treatment room while a trained therapist uses products from award-winning British nutri-cosmeceutical brand Oskia to pummel, beautify or soothe you.

Perfectly personalised and using traditional techniques such as acupressure, massage and lymph drainage, you’ll get a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave you feeling nourished and glowing.

You don’t have to press pause on your fitness plans when you’re staying at The Quay Hotel & Spa. There’s a state-of-the-art-gym and swimming pool, along with a timetable of group fitness classes to take part in. And, with a variety of saunas and steam rooms to unwind in afterwards, everything you need for a toned, healthier you is all under one roof.

Light and airy, exercise feels like a breeze here. Try some cardio or have a go at the resistance machines safe in the knowledge that well-trained staff are on hand to offer support.

Prefer to exercise in the great outdoors? The Quay Hotel & Spa makes the perfect place to get your heart racing. North Wales is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, whether you like to take it easy on a coastal stroll or you seek more of an adrenaline rush. Try your hand at sailing, lace up your boots to explore Snowdonia or go to the nearby Alwen Reservoir for a spot of waterskiing.

Restaurants & Food at The Quay Hotel & Spa

No matter what you're in the mood for, you'll find something to tempt you at The Quay Hotel & Spa. The award-winning chefs here are passionate about using fresh, local ingredients, with delicious dishes that showcase Welsh produce to perfection.

The Ebb & Flow Restaurant

Seafood fan? You’re in the right place. The River Conwy is famous for its mussels and mackerel and you can enjoy the finest, freshest catches of the day right here in Ebb & Flow’s swish yet relaxed surroundings.

Named after the ebb and flow of the river that happens to be right outside the window, the hotel's restaurant offers excellent dining with stunning views of the Conwy Mountains, the estuary and the majestic medieval castle beyond. Taking its cues from the gorgeous location, you’ll find a real taste of Wales in all of Ebb & Flow’s brasserie-style creations, from local laverbread to Welsh treacle cured lamb rump.

The Cove Bar & Terrace

With a contemporary design and atmospheric lighting, the Cove Bar lets you admire the stunning scenery in a relaxed setting. You’ll find both delicious bar meals and a varied selection of Welsh gins and local ales, and you’re welcome to enjoy them on the terrace if the famous Welsh weather allows.

Spa Dining Room

Here on a package that includes a wholesome lunch or brunch? The good news is that you’ll eat it within the luxurious surroundings of the spa. The even better news is that you don’t have to get dressed - just watch out for crumbs in your snuggly robe!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The Quay Hotel & Spa serve afternoon tea?

Is it really a spa day if you don’t devour dinky delicacies and slather cream and jam onto crumbly pastry? We don’t think so! Served on a stylish three-tiered stand every day between 1pm and 3.30pm, the The Quay Hotel & Spa have given their afternoon tea a little bit of a local twist.

Amongst the savouries you’ll find tasty morsels such as Welsh rarebit on toasted brioche loaf, while the cakes include Tan Lan bara brith - a Welsh tea bread from an artisan bakery in Conwy. Enjoy with a cup of aromatic Conwy Mountain breakfast blend tea, or upgrade to Champagne or Prosecco if the occasion calls for it (and even if it doesn’t).

Is there a swimming pool at The Quay Hotel & Spa?

Yes there is, and it’s beautifully tranquil thanks to its stylish decor - think mood lighting, plenty of plants for that chic biophilic look and wooden day beds for poolside posing. At 15m it’s long enough for laps so have a dip, then retreat to the comfort of the hydrotherapy pool, Himalayan salt room or infrared sauna.

Is there accommodation at The Quay Hotel & Spa?

Yes there is. With all the good looks of a lakehouse in the Hamptons on the outside, inside The Quay Hotel’s 80 sumptuous rooms and suites continue the theme throughout their interiors with a soothingly chic coastal colour palette.

Categories range from Cosy Cove rooms up to Luxury Suites - the latter boast separate lounges, floor-to-ceiling windows and impressive castle views. Executive rooms have a choice of private balcony or terrace, perfect for a morning coffee or evening G and T.

Here on an overnight spa package? You’ll stay in a Superior room with a marble ensuite bathroom and views either onto the marina or over the hotel’s zen courtyard. Some have private outdoor spaces or Juliet balconies, but all of them have luxurious linen for a blissful night’s sleep.

Where is The Quay Hotel & Spa?

The Quay Hotel & Spa is located on the Deganwy Marina, overlooking the Conwy Estuary in North Wales. Its fantastic location lets you explore Snowdonia National Park, along with the nearby coastal towns of Conwy and Llandudno.

What are check-in and check-out times at The Quay Hotel & Spa?

Here on an overnight stay? You can check in from 3pm, while check-out time is by 11am. If you arrive earlier, you’re able to store your luggage with the porter until your room is ready. For pampering day packages, arrival times vary so do check your booking confirmation. Morning spa experiences start at 8:30am, while afternoon sessions begin at 1pm.

Is The Quay Hotel & Spa family-friendly?

The Quay Hotel & Spa is a great place to bring the kids, with Luxury Suites that transform into family rooms thanks to a double sofa bed in the lounge, along with an additional sofa - some even have a small dining area.

There’s a childrens’ menu packed with family favourites for picky eaters. And while you have to be aged 16 or over to use the thermal suite, children can splash in the pool every morning and evening. Check with the hotel for the current family swim times.

With so much to do in the local area, they won’t be bored. Little explorers will love discovering Conwy Castle, or try the Welsh Mountain Zoo. Just five miles away, it’s the oldest and most established zoo in Wales. If all else fails, take them to nearby Llandudno Pier with its array of shops, cafes and attractions.

Is The Quay Hotel & Spa accessible?

Yes it is, with three accessible rooms designed specifically for those with limited mobility. These are found on the ground floor and have wet rooms for guests. There are also disabled parking spaces and the car park offers levelled access to reception.

Is The Quay Hotel & Spa pet-friendly?

Four-legged friends are not allowed to set a paw in the spa itself, of course, but The Quay Hotel is fabulously dog-friendly. For an extra £25 per night, one well-behaved furry friend can stay in ground-floor Superior rooms overlooking the harbour.

Is there a golf club at The Quay Hotel & Spa?

Wales is a paradise for lovers of the sport of kings. While there’s no course on-site, there are three nearby, each offering golfers a unique way to test their skills. Conwy Golf Course is a championship links golf course, Maesdu Golf Course is an 18-hole course with panoramic views of Snowdonia, while Pwllheli Golf Course combines tree-lined parkland golf with links golf.
