Agreed to take your teenager to a spa retreat on a whim? Turns out, it might be the best idea you’ve had all week. Between exam stress, crazy TikTok dances and prom dramas, a little spa serenity sounds like just what the doctor ordered!

While many spas are strictly adults-only, there are some that welcome younger guests with open arms – and we have the teen spa packages to prove it! And, if your teen is aged 16 or over, you can find all our best teen spa days and spa venues at a glance, by filtering your results using the ‘Minimum Age’ option. Handy, right?

So whether it’s a birthday treat, a pre-prom glow-up or just some quality time with you, our teen-friendly spa guide is here to make the experience soothing and stress free – for everyone involved.

Do spas for teens have age restrictions?

Yes, they do, and they vary from spa to spa. If your teen is 18 or over, they’re considered an adult and can book any spa experience they fancy. Under 18? You’ll need to check with the spa directly. Some venues offer treatments and access to the facilities from age 16, while others welcome spa-loving mini-mes as young as 13 as long as there’s a parent or guardian present during treatments.

Not all treatments are suitable for their enviably youthful skin, so it’s important to choose carefully.

Got your eye on a spa and not sure whether teens are allowed? You’ll find their minimum age requirement in the ‘Details’ section. If you’re still unsure, you can contact the spa in advance. That way, you can double-check their age policy – and make sure your teen’s experience is tailored to their age and needs.

Some of our favourite spas for teens

Whether they’ve just survived GCSE season or fancy some one-on-one time with their favourite grown-up, these spas will go the extra mile to pamper the pair of you. Just remember to book in advance, especially during school holidays or prom season.

Brooklands Hotel & Spa, Surrey

Make it a spa day to remember with your teen at B Spa, where kids aged 13 to 15 can enjoy the facilities (hello, rooftop hot tub!) with a grown-up by their side, plus treatments like a manicure, pedicure or express facial. Older teens aged 16 to 17 can go solo in the spa, but will need a chaperone for facials. And the best thing? It’s right next door to Mercedes-Benz World, so you can pair your pampering with a spin on the track.

Sawcliffe Manor Country House, Scunthorpe

With a minimum age of five, even the smallest members of your crew can get in on the pampering action at Sawcliffe Manor’s Natural Spa. Family-friendly sessions for up to four will see you wallowing in your own private haven complete with foot baths, milk baths and Swedish barrel. And because everything’s organic, it’s perfect for their delicate skin.

Champneys, five UK locations

Champneys practically wrote the book on British wellness. And, with five stunning spa resorts across the UK, it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about pampering! They’re also experts in the multi-generational spa day experience, with guests aged 16+ welcome to dip a toe in the serenity. Just remember that anyone under 18 will need an adult chaperone. Sounds like a great excuse for a spa day to us!

Whittlebury Park, Northamptonshire

Got a pampering partner in crime aged 16 or over? Whittlebury Park is calling you both. This countryside retreat offers younger guests a grown-up slice of indulgence in a relaxed, welcoming setting. As long as you’re by their side, your teen can enjoy full access to the fabulous spa and its fire and ice experience, along with treatments like facials, massages and manicures.

Mana Spa at The Wave, Coventry

Mana Spa, tucked inside Coventry’s sleek Wave complex, is a modern oasis that welcomes guests aged 16 and over. With its calming interiors, tranquil treatment rooms and access to The Wave’s impressive leisure facilities, it’s the perfect spot for a little grown-up pampering.

Spa treatments for teens

Whether your teen is prepping for an event or just needs a break from the books, here are some tempting treatments they might enjoy:

Facials for young skin

Look for treatments using teen-friendly facial products like Elemis Fresh Skin. Therapists can often adapt their routine to suit younger complexions. Just ask!

Light massage

A gentle back, neck and shoulders massage can ease tension and calm nerves – perfect for exam season. Add in some soothing aromatherapy oils like lavender or chamomile, and you’ve got even more calming bang for your buck. Your therapist will know which ones are best for teen skin.

Manicures & pedicures

You’ve said yes to the prom dress. Now it’s time for the final finishing touches. A spa mani/pedi is perfect for a touch of polish before a big event – or just because.

Are there any spa treatments teens should avoid?

Some spa treatments are best saved for adulthood. Deep tissue massages, detox wraps and exfoliating facials can be too intense for younger skin. If your teen has acne or sensitive skin, even a gentle facial might need to be avoided. When in doubt, ask the spa therapist. They’ll know what’s safe and suitable.

Top tips for a teen spa day

With the right venue and a little planning, your teen’s first spa experience could be the start of a lifelong love affair with self-care. Here are a few extra tips to bear in mind:

Ask what they want. Teens know what they like – and what they don’t. Let them help choose the treatments.

Be mindful of body confidence. Swimsuits and shared spaces can be daunting. Make sure your teen feels comfortable and supported – by you, and their swimwear!

Prep for a phone-free zone. Most spas ask guests to switch off and unplug. Let your teen know they’ll be leaving their phone in a locker. Their thumbs might even enjoy the break!
