About

The Romans knew how to relax, and at Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa, you can too! Set in the market town of Hinckley, right on the Leicestershire-Warwickshire border, this four-star hotel is home to Roman’s Leisure Club & Spa, where a column‑lined pool, bubbling whirlpool and well‑equipped thermal suite will make you feel like a goddess. Add luxurious rooms and decadent dining and this has got ’spa break goals’ written all over it. Well, when in Rome… unwind!

Drift into calm in the 17m, Roman-style pool, stretch out like Cleopatra on a lounger or let the heat of the cedar‑wood sauna and aromatic steam room work their magic. Melt into an aromatherapy massage or soothe with a facial – they’re all powered by the award-winning natural spa brand Elemental Herbology. But if you’re in the mood to move, the hotel’s state‑of‑the‑art gym is kitted out with Life Fitness cardio and resistance equipment, plus there’s a timetable of group classes so you can finish your spa break feeling strong.

If you do decide to leave the comfort of your robe, being so close to the M69 and under ten miles from both Leicester and Coventry means you’re perfectly placed for a big day out. History buffs can explore nearby Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, while animal lovers should make a beeline for Twycross Zoo. Excellent retail therapy awaits in Birmingham, while live events at the NEC are within easy reach. Fancy something cultural? Head to Stratford‑upon‑Avon for Shakespearean charm or explore the medieval majesty of Warwick Castle.

But when you’re tired of shopping and sightseeing, the mock-Tudor Sketchley Grange makes an excellent spot to rest your head. Settle into one of the hotel’s 102 rooms, ranging from contemporary doubles to luxury suites with garden‑view Juliet balconies. Treat yourself to a locally sourced dinner at the Garden Restaurant or pick a cosy corner in the refurbished Terrace Bar for a post‑treatment tipple. Whether you’re unwinding over an afternoon tea or sinking into crisp sheets, you’ll leave this country-house hotel feeling utterly restored.

The Spa & Wellness at Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa

Ready to be pampered, preened and gently pummelled to perfection? Rediscover your glow at The Spa at Romans Leisure Club, the Roman‑inspired wellness hideaway tucked inside Sketchley Grange Hotel. Step through the doors and you’re met with warm stone tones, soft lighting and that unmistakable spa smell, for a sense of calm that settles over you the moment you arrive.

The centrepiece is the 17m heated pool, flanked by classic Roman‑style pillars that make every swim feel a little more decadent. Drift between the poolside whirlpool and cedar‑wood sauna, or clear your senses in the mint‑scented steam room. It’s easy to see why Romans won a “Club of the Year” award in 2025!

Time for your treatment? The spa’s partnership with Elemental Herbology lets you enjoy botanical‑led rituals themed around the five elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Whether you’re melting into a massage or brightening your complexion with a facial, the experience feels deeply grounding, with each one tailored to how you want to feel.

The sleek fitness suite lets you work out at your own pace, with health and fitness specialists on hand to help maximise your training. Find your zen in yoga, tone up with body conditioning, shake off the stress with dance fitness or head to the pool for a fun, high‑energy Aqua Aerobics session.

But why stay indoors? The ancient woodland of Burbage Common is right on your doorstep, while the Ashby de la Zouch Canal towpaths are the perfect way to get your steps up. Saddle up for the 12.5‑mile rural cycling loop through Dadlington and Stoke Golding, or head to Stoney Cove (just 15 minutes away) for a spot of paddleboarding.

Restaurants & Food at Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa

Days of indulgence deserve evenings filled with great food – and Sketchley Grange absolutely delivers. Blending its 1930s mock‑Tudor charm with fresh, contemporary spaces, the hotel’s watering holes hit that sweet spot between relaxed and refined…

The Terrace Lounge & Bar

Bright and modern the Terrace Bar is your go‑to for a pre-spa cappuccino or a cocktail before dinner. Expect light bites, indulgent afternoon teas and spa lunches with crisp glasses of Prosecco. When the sun’s out, the fun spills onto the landscaped terrace, perfect for summer sundowners.

Garden Restaurant

My friend and I came for an overnight stay with treatments. The hotel has a warm and friendly feeling. Staff were very accommodating. The room was excellent and we had a lovely view overlooking the garden. The evening meal was excellent. We had 3 treatments booked within the package which were great. We both booked extra treatments. Breakfast was good. We had a complimentary drink when we arrived. The price of the package with everything included was excellent value for money. We would certainly recommend it to friends and would definitely return.

Overall the hotel and spa facilities were beautiful. All areas lovely and clean. The dining staff were amazing and remember that my partner requested a veggie sausage the morning before. Very considerate! Dinner was amazing and the dining team, explained what was included in our package. Only one complaint, would be the TV in our room, was like trying to tune in an old fashion TV. Very frustrating, when you just wanted to watch a bit of TV. The TV wasn't very modern and did not have app to watch Netflix etc. Would defiantly stay there again.
