Superb spa. Average hotel

Spa was superb. Best aromatherapy massage I’ve had in England and I’ve had over 35. Hotel is average. Worst breakfast ever had in a hotel, microwaved, pre-packed, cold. Served in room as dining room closed. Go room only and get breakfast in Asda. Ruined a really great spa experience. Massage was so relaxing but totally stressed about the hotel. Under refurb and wasn’t informed, limited menu for dinner, paid £47 to include it for a pizza and a burger. Very very disappointed but the massage and the spa staff were superb.

Had a lovely time on our Spa Day. Everywhere was very clean and Covid procedures in place. I am gluten intolerant so had a gluten-free lunch which was amazing. The treatments we had were really lovely. A very relaxing day which we will certainly be repeating.

Fantastic weekend away.
I booked this weekend very last minute as an excuse to get my injured husband to rest...something he was not doing at home!
I had to ring en route as we were running late due to an accident on the road near home...from this point the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We actually made it in the nick of time and the spa team were all waiting ready to whisk us through and make the most of it. The tour followed after our treatments which were incredible, and thereafter a lazy afternoon by the pool was perfect for continuing the relaxation.
The room was huge. Very modern and stylish, and very comfortable too. We went down for dinner and whilst the menu was reduced, the food was excellent. Breakfast time was similarly high standard.
We had a few drinks in the hotel bar too. Not the best wine on offer but it hardly mattered...we switched to gin!
The hotel was spotless, the staff were amazing throughout and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back.Cheryl Mills, Shropshire
Overnight Sunday spa break

Just returned from 1 night at Dunkenhalgh. We do a lot of spa breaks in North of England and this really was one of the best. We turned up at 10.30 knowing that we could use spa facillities before the check. 1 hour in the gym soon passed before we spent time in the spa. Apart from the ice fountain everything was in good order and worked fine. Plenty of steam in steam rooms and heat in saunas. We had treatments pre booked that went very well, we felt nice. The evening meal was very tasty with lots of choice on the menu. The service was just right, not too fussy but there when needed. The room was big, clean and looked fresh with a decent TV and nice shower. Breakfast was excellent cereals, fruit, prunes, nuts, fry up, juice and unlike some hotels the coffee was good.
