Good Spa visit, but do NOT wear the slippers outside!

We booked a package for my hen do. The spa was lovely, the massage was excellent, and the afternoon tea was wonderful. We were advised that we could wear our slippers and robes over to the conservatory for afternoon tea. The bottom of the slippers have no grip, and my mother-in-law fell down the steps outside the conservatory due to the slippers being wet and slippery. Unfortunately she cut her leg and broke her toe. Other than this, it was a wonderful day.

I booked the spa as a surprise birthday present for my mum. We had a two course dinner first, followed by an afternoon in the spa. I had a hot stone massage and a facial. It was the most bliss hour. The treatments were amazing. Will absolutely recommend. The hotel, facilities and staff were fab.

Amazing experience and good value! Very welcoming staff, only criticism was when I had the back massages I wasn't asked if I had any troubling areas, I would of targeted a massage that suited my needs, but nether the less it was a very good massage!

Staff were great when we got there, used the spa facilties before having a 25 minute treatment, which was all great. Then went in for Sunday lunch which we both enjoyed, would definitely book again.

Mixed feelings

First of all, the building itself and location is stunning. Lovely view. On arriving at the spa, the lady behind the desk told us we were welcome to use the swimming pool and saunas, that we had lunch at 12.30 and our treatments were starting at 1.30. They had ran out of slippers so we had to change into our swim wear, use the pool and sauna, dry and change for lunch then get back into our wet swimming costumes for our treatments. This was because they had no slippers and we didn't fancy wearing our chunky leather boots with our robes, so it wasn't very relaxing, it felt quite rushed and crammed for myself and my friend. However the food was absolutely gorgeous which put a smile back on our faces. We had the vegetable stir fry which was amazing and the brownie and ice cream for desert. best food I'd had out in months, that's the truth! As for the massage afterwards, that was lovely too. The massage therapist was very professional, informative and gave an amazing massage! Thank you.
