The Edge health club has a gym packed with Precor resistance and cardiovascular kit. With bikes, treadmills and cross-trainers plus leg press, curl and extension machines you can pedal, plod or pump all day long. Here with friends? Bagsie your bike at a spin class or try Zumba, aerobics or Pilates. 

Try a fast-paced game of squash. The Edge has racquets and balls to buy or hire. Take your fitness outdoors at the tennis courts or perfect your swing at the two world-class golf courses. And after all your exertions, you can relax, knowing that the tranquil indoor pool, bubble pool, sauna and steam are waiting to help you unwind.

The Brasserie Lounge

Catch up with friends over a barista-made coffee and home-made treats in Barnham Broom’s stylish haven. Stunning views make a great talking point, or have a cocktail to keep the conversation flowing. Craving something stronger? Work your way through over 30 gins, many local to Norfolk, or savour a pre-dinner aperitif. 

Sports Bar

This relaxed bar and restaurant offers a wide range of delicious pub fare, from fresh meals to tasty snacks, served all day. Whether you're catching up with friends over drinks, enjoying a leisurely family lunch, or indulging in a delicious brunch, The Sports Bar has something for everyone. And on a sunny day, their leafy terrace beckons for delightful alfresco dining. Open daily from 10am to 9pm, this is the perfect spot for a casual escape.

Yes it does. Found in The Edge, Barnham Broom’s swish health and fitness club, the 11m indoor heated swimming pool is ideal for lengths. Poolside there’s a sauna, steam room and bubble pool as well comfy loungers to curl up on with your book. Nothing to read? Just lie back and admire the golf-course views from floor-to-ceiling windows.

Want to stay the night? We don’t blame you. The four-star Barnham Broom has 46 luxury bedrooms. Standard rooms have king-sized beds and luxury toiletries, or upgrade to a Superior to stretch out on a super-king swaddled in your complimentary dressing gown. If you’re here on an occasion when only the best will do, check-in to a Suite. With separate living areas these offer even more space and luxury.

The hotel is not a modern property, and as such it’s not fully accessible. However you will find accessible parking and disabled toilets.

Here on an overnight stay? Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is at 11am. For spa days, arrival times vary so check your booking confirmation.

If you’re here for a spa package, Barnham Broom will provide the towel, robe and slippers, so just pack a swimming costume - or two so that you’ve got a dry one to change into for your treatment. 

Other than that, bring your gym kit, trainers and a water bottle, so you can keep fit in the state-of-the-art fitness suite. Don’t forget a good book for all that lounging you’ll be doing. And, if you wanted to stay for dinner at the Brasserie, you might feel more comfortable if you’ve brought some smart-casual clothing to wear.

You’ll find the resort seven miles west of the Cathedral city of Norwich. As such it makes the perfect base for exploring the town’s shops and attractions. With Norfolk’s wild and windy coastline (to both the north and east) just a short hop, Barnham Broom Is also your launching point to the county’s iconic Broads and beaches. 

It's only a 45-minute drive from Barnham Broom to Holt, the Georgian gateway to the peaceful Woodlands Country Park. Keep going to the coast to get to Wells-Next-the-Sea, with its working harbour and miniature railway to the beach.

You can make your stay at Barnham Broom every bit as laid-back or as action-packed as you like. Sporty type? Swing by the golf course or driving range, have a game of doubles at the tennis courts or table tennis tables, or try your hand at squash. Fitness lovers will enjoy the extensive gym, or there’s an alphabet of classes to try, from aerobics to Zumba.

But if that’s all sounding a bit too energetic, you could just spend all day lounging beside the indoor pool. Drift between the bubble pool and thermal suite, but make sure you leave time for an ESPA ritual from one of the five sumptuous treatment rooms.

Yes it is. While you have to be 16 for spa treatments, children can splash in the pool on Monday to Friday between 3.30pm and 5pm, and between 9am and 10.30am and 3.30pm and 5pm at weekends. Seven family rooms give you the space you need to spread out and relax.

Kids can’t eat in the elegant Brasserie, but are welcome in the Sports Bar. Besides the relaxed atmosphere you’ll find a children’s menu for little ones and yummy pizzas for hungry teens. There’s plenty for explorers to do nearby, too. Banham Zoo is only a half an hour's drive south and it has more than 1,000 animals from around the world.

A little birdie told us it has two, so if you love to spa and par you’ll be in heaven. The golf at Barnham Broom is world-class, thanks to the Hill and the Valley - two contrasting 18-hole courses offering keen golfers 36 holes to play. 

With marshals ensuring you’re not held up by slow coaches, practice facilities let you improve their swing. There’s even a refreshment buggy doing the rounds with drinks and snacks. You don’t need a handicap card, but will need the proper clothes - no trainers, blue jeans, tracksuits or sports shirts allowed.
