The UK's most romantic places

When it comes to romance, we often think of Paris, Venice, or the white sands of the Seychelles. However, Britain also boasts plenty of romantic spots that are perfect for a short break. In this article, we take a look at some of the best places for romance in this country and suggest a few spas that can make your romantic break extra special.

Covering more than 900 square miles in the northwest county of Cumbria, the Lake District is an area of spectacular scenery that includes 19 major lakes and reservoirs, as well as forests and mountains (you can find Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, here). The area is a designated National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and, not surprisingly, it remains one of the country’s most visited tourist attractions. Perfect for a romantic break, the area has long inspired artists and writers. It was once home to the English romantic poet, William Wordsworth.
