I love a success story – especially if it’s spa related, so I was really pleased to hear that the MD of the Chill Out Spa in Knowsley, Sharon Carroll, has just won the Entrepreneur of the Year award in the 2011 Merseyside Women of the Year Awards.
The Merseyside Woman of the Year Award celebrates women who bring something special to the business world and the local community, and Sharon was given the prestigious accolade on 24 June.
The Chill Out spa is a perfect spa day – it’s a proper unisex spa that’s cleverly designed to appeal to all the sense of ladies and spa-loving gents, full of gorgeous touches like the Lagoon Spa and fantastic spa ritual suites that are just pure bliss.
The spa opened in 2008, and it was a total change of direction for Sharon, who worked in finance for around 20 years before branching out into something much more lovely! She still has plenty of ideas – she says there are already exciting plans afoot to develop and expand Chill Out Spa and the award was “the icing on the cake of a fantastic year.”
Ellie Kerr, director at Women and Business and co-organiser of the awards, called Sharon a “wonderful role model “ for women, who proved that it was possible to make a dream into a reality, and said that it was a pleasure to crown her as an award winner.
It’s a well-deserved award for a woman we love, with a real vision – and the spa is a real winner too, with a whole host of loyal fans, celeb and more. It’s one of the nicest spas in Merseyside and totally worth a visit if you’re booking a spot of day spa action in that part of the country.
Well done Sharon, from Spa Seekers!
