I’m a big fan of Lifehouse Spa in Essex, and I’d heard that they do some fantastic mother-to-be pamper days down there…the kind of thing I wish I’d known about when I had my little darling! I heard that the lovely Alice Langley who blogs as An Essex Wife was going to try one out so I asked her to report back from all you spa lovers who are expecting…
“Lifehouse Spa, what can I say? Amazing! When Spa Goddess Sarah asked me to guest post for Spaseekers about my recent visit I couldn’t say yes fast enough, everyone needs to know about this hidden Essex gem. My spa break with full board and treatments, came just at the right time for me as I have five weeks till I am due to give birth to baby number two and was in much need of a rest!
“From the moment we arrived I was completely relaxed. Our rooms were spacious, fresh and came with not only an amazing view of the landscaped grounds but also with GHD straighteners! They really had thought of everything.
“My treatment, Hands Knees and Bumps a Daisy, was a one-hour massage and skin conditioning treatment using sumptuous Babor products tailored to ease away pregnancy aches and pains and moisturise the skin to reduce the chance and visibility of stretch marks. It was divine. I came out feeling totally relaxed and headed for vibrating relaxation chairs in the chill out zone and proceeded to fall asleep for the next hour, a real treat for a busy mum who barely has the time to stop to eat during the day let alone nap.
“Dining at Lifehouse is an experience all of its own. I was instantly impressed that the food was not all health foods and sawdust. I tend to believe a little of what you fancy does you good in life so, as I was there to relax, the heavenly chocolate brownie I had for dessert at dinner went down a treat. The restaurant staff, along with all staff at Lifehouse, could not be faulted. They were attentive and knowledgeable without being smothering and making us feel uncomfortable.
“I cannot recommend Lifehouse Spa highly enough and can’t wait to return once the baby is born. I had a sneak peak while I was there at their signature treatment, The Oriental Bathing Experience, a 120 minute massage and holistic treatment designed to take you away from life for two hours and submerge you into a world of total relaxation. I’ll make sure I pop back and let you know all about it.”
