My Naughty Forty List – and Mother’s Day Spa Days!

My Naughty Forty List – and Mother’s Day Spa Days!

Like a lot of people I know, I have a few things in mind that I’d love to do before I hit the big 4-0. I was really pleased to have crossed a few of them off last year – I had my picture taken with a celebrity (Gok Wan), I had my hair dyed purple (well OK, it was a dip-dye, but part of it was purple) and I have actually interviewed my first celebrity too (Leslie Ash…I was so nervous). I still haven’t worked up the courage to sing Karaoke in public, or the fitness to run a marathon (although I’m doing Race for Life, which is a start)

One of the first things I did was to take my mum on a spa break. Honestly! She’s always talked about coming with me, and like a lot of people, never really got around to it because of time, money and the whole ‘I don’t know what you’re supposed to do at a spa’ thing.

So I took her to Lifehouse Spa in Thorpe-le-Soken and now she’s converted to the joys of UK Spa breaks. We had an overnight stay and she really enjoyed it – although when she came out of the make-up lesson looking completely unlike my mum, I had to admit that maybe she’d been doing the job herself well enough for however many years…

There are so many fab Mother’s day spa deals at the moment; it would be a shame not to make the most of them if you’ve never taken your mum to a spa before.

What’s even better is that a lot of them are two-for-one, mother and daughter spa day so you get to spoil your mum as well as pamper yourself a little bit, too. A winner all round I reckon. And as for my mum, I can’t wait to take her on a spa day again soon…
