What are you doing this Christmas? Have you decided whose parents you’re seeing this year, where the kids are going, whether you’re going to be watching the festive Eastenders or Coronation Street? (I wouldn’t bother with either, someone always dies and it’s enough to put you off your Christmas pud).
Personally, I wouldn’t trade spending my Christmas with family, little Sophia still believes in Santa (I think) and I love surprising the man indoors with something he isn’t expecting. But if I didn’t have such a lovely little family, I think I would be sorely tempted with some of the Christmas spa deals. Some resort spas, like the indomitable Champneys, have a range of Christmas and New Year packages, which aren’t actually a bad deal, if you feel like getting away from it all for a few days over Christmas and having a facial and a body treatment accompanied with mulled wine, mince pies and a traditional Christmas dinner.
Other spas like to take the view that people prefer to get away for a spa day after the festivities...if not for any other reason than to get away from all the rich food and family! A pamper day is a great idea in that tricky Christmas – new Year period when you’ve had the festive binge and blowout but are still very much aware that you’ve got to go out in a party frock on New Years’ Eve...
Alternatively, how about a Winter Warmer Spa Day or Christmas Countdown Spa Day to ease you in gently – Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel in Meriden, West Midlands has some great, no, amazing offers on those at the moment, and the De Vere Oulton Hall Hotel Spa in Leeds is offering an irresistible ‘Pamper me for Christmas’ spa day.
Before, during or after....take your pick!
