Teens like a spa pamper too!

Teens like a spa pamper too!

Do you remember when you were a girl, sneaking into your mum’s bedroom, trying on her shoes and make up, and pretending you were all grown up? As a teen, your first make up of your own is a big thing – if your teens were anything like mine, you graduated from a Girl’s World to a bumper pack of generic make up somewhere in the eighties and spent most of your school years deliberating between green and blue eye shadow...the photographs have been destroyed...

Well, I know from talking to my 14 year old niece, Lisa, that although the teens of the 21st century demand better make-up than I used to be able to afford (until I started a Saturday job in a chemist and suddenly had more make-up and beauty products than I could ever need) they also covet grown-up spa days and beauty treatments. The thing is, teen skin is different to an adult’s, so a lot of the treatments on a UK spa or salon treatment list are a bit out of bounds to a teenage girl. Let’s face it, you’re not thinking about anti-ageing at 15.

That’s where Bannatyne ‘Teen Treatments’ come in. My sister told me that Lisa wants to follow in my footsteps and either be a beauty writer or a beauty therapist, and they’ve found out that their nearest Bannatyne Health Club has introduced a teen beauty menu!

It’s designed to introduce teens to the concept of looking after their skin at a young age, with facials and body treatments all perfectly tuned to treat teen skin properly – for example there’s the Elemis Acne Attack deep cleansing treatment for anyone self conscious about their spots, and lovely body treatments you could give a teen as a pre-exam de-stressing treat. There’s pure beauty too – nails and waxing for the next school prom!

Treatments are only carried out in the presence of an adult, so there’s no need to worry about young girls and grown up treatments not mixing. I think Lisa is already booking herself in for an Elemis facial over the school holidays...
