Guests can work up a sweat in style on high-performance equipment from treadmills and cross-trainers to bikes. Or tone up with a trip to the weights room where you’ll find single-station machines and free weights.

Don’t like to go it alone? Hit the studio for a group fitness class. Suitable for most abilities, there’s a great selection on offer throughout the week, such as yoga, Pilates and even Clubbercise for a workout set to a pumping soundtrack. Don’t forget your glow sticks!

Relax, unwind, then it’s time to wine and dine, and a night at the hotel’s restaurant and bar will be every bit as chilled out as a day at its Health Club. Prop up the bar, sip on a cocktail and soak up your artfully rustic surroundings, before heading to the restaurant. Here’s a little rundown of what to expect while you’re there.

The Gravity Bar

With a nod to Grantham’s most-famous former resident, Isaac Newton, The Gravity Bar is cosy and relaxed. Open from 11am till late for residents and non-residents, it’s a great spot to work your way through the many flavoured gins on offer, or just sample one of the locally-produced bottled real ales to immerse yourself in the flavours of the region!

The Barn Restaurant

With its beautiful beams and converted-barn feel, the hotel’s restaurant takes all of its ingredients straight from the bountiful Lincolnshire larder. Expect hearty, home-cooked meals cooked to perfection. It’s open on Tuesday to Saturday evenings and closed on Sunday and Monday, but you can still get food in the bar.

There sure is! Water babies will have plenty to occupy them at The Barn Hotel & Spa thanks to the generously-sized 15m indoor swimming pool with its bubbly poolside jacuzzi. Complete your swim and soak with a trip to the sauna or steam room, then pull up a day bed for a little snooze.

Want to turn your spa day into a spa stay? We don’t blame you. There are 103 rooms and suites and all boast sumptuous sheets, luxurious toiletries and beautiful design. Choose from Standard, Superior or Family rooms - they all have a fresh, modern décor and private bathrooms. All rooms have tea/coffee facilities, and some have four-poster beds.

Check-in time is at 3pm, and check-out is at 11am. However, if you are staying on a Saturday evening, the hotel offers a complimentary late check out of 1pm if you book a Sunday lunch. 

You’ll find The Barn Hotel & Spa in Lincolnshire, close to the village of Marston and about a ten-minute drive from the attractive market town of Grantham.

The Barn Hotel & Spa is fabulously family-friendly and offers a number of facilities for little ones. Picky eaters will love the kid-friendly dishes on the children’s menus and the hotel has a number of family rooms that let you all spread out.

It is! Well-behaved dogs are given a warm and waggy-tailed welcome here. Just inform the hotel in advance if you plan to bring your furry friend so that they can make the necessary arrangements. It costs a one off fee of £15 per pet.

If time on a golf course helps you swing into relaxation, you’re in luck. While there isn’t a golf course right on-site, there is one very close by. A ten-minute drive takes you to Golf At Belton Woods which has not one but two PGA Championship- approved golf courses to challenge you.
