About
Fancy a spa break to one of the UK’s most underrated cities? Norwich makes a brilliant destination for a wellness getaway. England’s most complete medieval city has a newly revamped Norman castle, two cathedrals and more independent shops than you can shake your credit card at. It also happens to sit within the Norfolk Broads, making it the only English city inside a national park. Just four miles north of the centre, Sprowston Manor Hotel, Spa & Golf lets you enjoy it all – plus there’s a swish leisure club to soak in after a hard day’s sightseeing.
A driveway lined with ancient oak trees sets the scene for your perfect retreat. Surrounded by 170 acres of greenery, Sprowston Manor has that unmistakable countryâclub feel. The red-brick manor house itself is over 450 years old, with grand staircases and original fireplaces. With 94 elegant bedrooms, the hotel is spacious enough for group getaways. But cosy nooks and quiet corners make it ideal for romantic escape with your favourite person, too.
But it’s the health and leisure club that steals the show. Work out at the gym, lie by the pool, or hop in the steam and sauna for a blast of heat to soothe every knot. Therapists use Elemis products to deliver everything from hot-stone massages to skin-brightening facials. And with beauty treats like manicures, pedicures and waxes to add the final polish, it’s easy to tailor your spa break to the kind of self-care you’re craving.
Prefer putting to pampering? Sprowston Manor is home to the longest 18âhole championship golf course in Norfolk, plus there’s a floodlit driving range for perfecting your swing after dark. Then, after a day of doing exactly what you please, you can settle in for drinks at the Club House Bar, before an elegant dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
If you decide to venture out, you’re perfectly placed to explore. Head back into the city for boutique shopping in the Lanes, a wander around the cathedral quarter or a browse through the vintage stores that give Norwich its buzz. Culture lovers can tour the newly restored Norwich Castle or catch a show at the Theatre Royal. For something more scenic, The Norfolk Broads are just a short drive away, as are the treehouse adventures of BeWILDerwood.

Booked a time together spa day for mine & my daughters birthday. The staff were friendly on arrival and the treatment booked - a back massage was ok. The pool and facilities were nice, although there was no where to have lunch on Mondays or Tuesdays which I was advised of after booking. I feel the changing rooms could be revamped and the gym was closed for refurbishment so be aware that the gym is not available at the moment. Overall i would rate my experience 7/10
