From morning coffee to a nightcap, keep things laid-back and luxurious at The Lounge Bar. Sink into plush seating and savour a salad or sandwich, or tuck into a hearty burger or pasta. Here in the afternoon? It would be rude not to sample the afternoon tea. 

The Pines Bar

Overlooking the pristine greens of Forest Pines Golf Club, The Pines Bar is where golfers go to celebrate (or commiserate) in style. With spectacular views, it’s the ideal place to kick back with a refreshing drink after a round on the championship 27-hole course.

Is it really a spa day without the chance to dip your toe in an azure rectangle? Luckily, there’s an idyllic 18m indoor pool in Forest Pines’ health club. Atmospherically-lit by night, bright and airy by day, there’s also a whirlpool, sauna and steam room to unwind in after your swim.

Yes, there is. With 188 comfortable and contemporary rooms, at Forest Pines you’ll be spoilt for choice. From Classic to Deluxe, Superior and Suites, many have spectacular views.

Here with a trio of golf fans or spa-loving besties? Your whole crew can stay together in a Deluxe Triple. Styled with calming, earthy tones and an extra helping of creature comforts (hello, Nespresso coffee machine!) their home-from-home vibe and super-comfy beds make them great for longer stays. 

Ready to escape to the countryside? Forest Pines is located in Broughton, near Scunthorpe, surrounded by 190 acres of lush woodland. There’s plenty to do nearby. Head to Normanby Hall Country Park, a 300-acre estate with a stately home, deer park, and a GoApe treetop challenge. Or get a dose of culture at Scunthorpe’s North Lincolnshire Museum, with fascinating exhibits spanning from the Iron Age to the post-war era.

Check-in is from 3pm on your day of arrival and you’ll need to check-out at 11am on your day of departure. The hotel is happy to store your bags if you arrive any earlier and want to hit the spa before you check-in. Day spa packages typically start at 10am. But arrival times can vary, so it’s best to check your booking confirmation.

Children get a warm welcome at Forest Pines, with kids’ menus and plenty of space for them to let off steam. Interconnecting rooms were made for families with teens, while generously-sized family rooms and suites feature two double beds to let you all spread out.

While under 16s can’t use the gym or thermal facilities, little ones can splash in the pool every weekday from 6am to 7pm, on Saturdays from 7.30am to 6pm and on Sundays from 7.30am to 6.30pm. 

If the pool’s not enough to keep them busy, the hotel has 190 acres of Lincolnshire woodland to explore. Plus it puts you in pole position for local attractions such as Messingham Zoo, North Lincolnshire Museum and Go Ape Normanby Hall – perfect for your little monkeys!

Very, with ten parking spaces reserved for blue badge holders and six purpose-built accessible rooms on the ground floor. These interconnect with a separate double room that can be used by children or carers. 

At the health club there’s a poolside hoist, and steps with a handrail into the shallow end of the pool. The dedicated accessible changing room has a wheel-in shower with a drop-down seat and grab rails. 

Forest Pines is more than dog-friendly - it’s sheer hound heaven! For £25 per room, per night they’ll get treats, access to indoor and outdoor dining areas and plenty of space for walkies. You can bring up to two small or medium dogs with you, so no pup needs to be left behind.
