There’s a welcoming air of tranquillity in the spa here, so get ready for a journey of nothing but bliss. This is a haven of calm in an increasingly hectic world, so make the most of every single moment that comes your way.
Take a long look at the superb treatments and therapies on the menu and pick the ones that help you to fall in love with luxury once again. And later on you can prolong the ecstasy with some quality time in the 17-metre swimming pool.
Suitable for both novices and experts alike, the gym at the Revive Health Club is an oh so impressive facility. This is where you go to create a workout that ticks all the right boxes then ticks some more.
There’s a team of qualified professionals here for those who’d like more structure, and a great range of organised classes as well. Later, why not unwind in the most exquisite style in the must-try scented steam room?
Time spent in the superb Riverside Restaurant and Bar will always be quality time, because the views here are as spectacular as the food. The emphasis is on the freshest local ingredients and a passion for what’s being served up.
Everything you need is right here, from a quick coffee and muffin to a multi-course extravaganza that leaves you feeling 100% fulfilled. And if you fancy something wonderfully indulgent, save room for a traditional afternoon tea.

I was persuaded to go to the Crowne Plaza Reading for a day of pampering recently by a few friends, and although I was reluctant at first I was a convert by the time I went home. I was so stressed out when I arrived, but as soon as I went to the spa I could feel my mood changing. We all had a couple of treatments and they were fab, followed by a lunch which was just as excellent. Relaxing by the pool later on, I had time to think about making a return visit to my newly discovered sanctuary. I have a feeling it won’t be long before that happens!

When arriving at the spa, we had a little confusion as our treatment times were different to what we pre booked over the phone. However the new times were much better for us anyway. We waited a little for robes and towels, but after that the spa manager was very helpful and guided us through to the changing room. The facilities were clean throughout, although the toilet paper did run out in all of the bathrooms at one point! There could be slightly more seating but we didn’t struggle as it was a quiet day. The treatments we had were lovely and relaxing and the staff were all polite and helpful.

Lovely experience but a shame about the Jacuzzi

The spa experience at the Crowne Plaza was great, April specifically provided some stellar treatments which were a pleasure to experience.
There were pool, steam, sauna and Jacuzzi facilities available but it was a shame the Jacuzzi wasn’t quite bubbling as it should.Jessica, Reading

Our therapist was very good at his job and he made you feel very comfortable. I had a 30 minute deep-tissue massage and my friend had a face and scalp massage, both of us loved the treatments and felt very ‘revived’ afterwards. Would of been nice to have some relaxing music in the treatment rooms though as could hear everything outside. Sauna and steam rooms were lovely. Pool was ok, but busy. Jacuzzi had a bit too much chlorine in it and it made our eyes sting straight away. I was told a light lunch came with our spa day, the spa receptionist was very helpful in arranging this for us. He was very busy with other customers but he came into the restaurant to help us as I hadn’t received any vouchers for this. It took us 45 minutes to sort out in the end. The restaurant staff didn’t seem to know what was going on and there was a lot of confusion and then they asked us what to serve us, which we thought was a little strange.
