Some mornings call for a little indulgence. Others call for a lot – and this one starts the moment you and your favourite person step inside The Athenaeum and head downstairs to its hidden spa. Wrapped in matching fluffy robes, you’ll be treated side by side in the double treatment room, choosing two 30-minute rituals each to set the tone for a thoroughly decadent day.
Spend an hour in the thermal suite, letting the cedar hot tub, sauna and steam room work their magic, before heading upstairs to 116, the hotel’s two AA Rosette-winning restaurant. Here, afternoon tea awaits: dainty sandwiches, freshly baked scones and sweet treats, served with a whole bottle of Prosecco to share. Morning pampering followed by fizz? Now that’s what we call indulgent.
