You can wander right from the spa straight into the rolling hills of the Vale of Clwyd. A dream location for hikers, Offa’s Dyke Path is nearby with breathtaking panoramic views that will make you completely forget you’re actually getting a fantastic leg workout.

But if your idea of fitness involves a serious adrenaline rush, North Wales is the ultimate playground. A short drive down the road brings you to the dramatic heights of Moel Famau and the Clwydian Range. You’re also perfectly positioned to head deeper into Snowdonia (Eryri) or visit Zip World, where you can soar over quarry lakes on the world’s fastest zip line. Just don’t look down!

There’s no need to take off your fluffy robe to refuel at The White Spa. When you book a spa day, your experience includes a delicious light lunch served in the spa lounge. Choose from fully loaded bagels, fluffy omelettes, classic sandwiches, tasty wraps or steaming jacket potatoes – paired with a refreshing soft drink or wine to keep you well-hydrated. 

Best of all, if you’re relaxing poolside and fancy a little livener, there’s a bar service directly to the pool area, meaning a chilled drink or a fresh coffee can be delivered straight to your lounger while you unwind.

While main restaurant meals are not included in the standard day spa packages, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from extending your spa day by booking a table at The White House Restaurant – and you’ll be very glad you did! Known for its locally sourced Welsh cuisine, the kitchen cooks up crowd-pleasers like their famous Homemade Pie of the Day, thick-cut Sunday Roasts, succulent steaks and crispy beer-battered fish and chips. 

There sure is, and it’s a pretty special one at that. The 12‑metre indoor salt water pool uses AFM (Activated Filter Media), one of the purest filtration systems on the market. That means crystal‑clear water, far less chlorine and no harsh chemicals to get in the way of your zen. It’s gentler on skin, eyes and breathing too, making it a lovely environment for a relaxing dip.

Alongside the main pool, you’ll find an aromatherapy steam room, a traditional sauna and relaxation loungers. And just a few steps away on the terrace there’s a heated outdoor vitality pool with massage jets.

Spa staycation calling your name? You’re in luck, because The White Spa is part of The White House Hotel, which features eight elegant en-suite bedrooms alongside three detached, self-contained luxury lodges tucked away in the country park. 

Day and morning packages generally start at 9am, but do check your booking confirmation – and try to arrive 15 minutes before your treatment time so you can relax and complete a health questionnaire. For residential stays at The White House Hotel, check-in time is from 3pm and you need to check out by 10am on your day of departure. 

The White Spa is part of the White House Hotel & Restaurant complex, located just a two-minute hop off the main A55 North Wales Expressway. It’s right in the heart of the idyllic, tranquil village of Rhuallt, set within the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape (historically known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in the majestic Vale of Clwyd, Denbighshire. 

Surrounded by rolling green hills, dramatic ridges and panoramic views, the spa is great stop-over for outdoor enthusiasts. The legendary Offa’s Dyke Path is close by, so you can spend your morning conquering the rugged hillside trails of nearby Moel Famau, and your afternoon lounging by that starlit pool!

The spa is part of a local family-run empire. It’s owned by the Parry-Jones family, the passionate team behind the entire White House complex and the adjoining Rhuallt Country Park caravan site. What started as a dedicated space for touring caravans and holiday homes has grown into a stunning countryside leisure destination, complete with premium dining, boutique rooms and a luxury spa. The locals love it – with good reason!

Sorry! The White Spa is a grown‑ups‑only kind of place, which is exactly why it feels so peaceful. You need to be 18 or over to use the spa facilities or have a treatment. 

But there are a couple of exceptions. The spa occasionally runs Mini Me Spa Days for one adult and one child aged 11 to 16. And the children of leisure club members can hop in the pool daily between 4pm and 5pm – making that the perfect time to avoid if you fancied a quiet dip!

As for The White House itself, the main hotel and restaurant are completely family-friendly with kids menus plus a large children’s play area so they can let off steam before lunch. But the luxury lodges are an adults-only retreat.

Yes it is, if you use a standard wheelchair that can fit through the door. For overnight guests, it's worth noting that the standard hotel bedrooms are strictly stair-access only, but there are ground-floor luxury lodges on-site.

While the spa itself is strictly a no-paws zone, dogs are welcome to curl up next to you in designated areas of The White House bar. Dogs can even stay overnight in some of the luxury lodges on-site.

Sorry! There are no bunkers or putting greens at The White Spa or The White House Hotel – but you are in a prime spot for a golfing getaway. You can practice your swing just eight minutes down the road at Llannerch Park Golf Course & Driving Range in St Asaph, or test your skills at the championship-level Rhuddlan Golf Club nearby.
