About

Laid-back leisure, championship golf, a sumptuous spa – and all just a short hop from Southampton? If you’re looking for a Hampshire spa break with something for everyone, Meon Valley Hotel scores a hole in one. High-end and contemporary, it sits luxuriously within 225 acres of immaculate landscaped grounds. And, with a roll call of facilities that include a restaurant, bar, health club and woodland walking trails, it’s safe to say you won’t be bored!

Golfers are in their element here thanks to two impressive courses, including an 18-hole championship layout that winds through a stunning oak forest. But for those who prefer to spa than par, head directly to the hotel’s Health & Leisure Club. There’s a 12m indoor pool for leisurely laps, plus a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for unwinding after your swim. Four treatment rooms offer a menu of Elemis therapies to soothe body and soul, while the well-equipped gym and fitness classes are ideal for those who like to crunch before brunch.

Checking in for the night? The hotel’s 113 rooms are elegant and well appointed, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Wake up to a bountiful breakfast in the Charter Suite, then head to the Clubhouse restaurant for a spot of lunch or hearty dinner, all served with relaxing views – and a cheeky cocktail or two.

With Southampton’s cruise terminals just a short drive away, Meon Valley makes an ideal pre‑ or post‑sailing stopover. But if there’s time for a spot of sightseeing, families can make a beeline for Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, while culture lovers can explore Winchester’s cathedral and historic streets. Prefer retail therapy? Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth offers big‑name brands and waterfront dining. And if you’re heading into Southampton itself, you’ll find everything from Westquay’s shopping to museums, maritime history and a lively waterfront – and they’re all within easy reach of the hotel.

Then, when it’s time for your treatment, there’s a menu of Elemis treatments designed to spoil you, whether you’re seeking beautiful skin or inner calm.

Since you're going to be feeling amazing, you might as well look it, too. From shiny OPI nails to waxing that lets you feel silky smooth for weeks on end, this Hampshire spa hits the spot when it comes to taking care of you.

The studio offers a weekly timetable of group fitness classes, from yogalates to Zumba, so you could go home feeling fitter than ever before.

There are three outdoor tennis courts to perfect your serve, along with woodland walking and jogging trails that weave through the estate’s 225 acres. Beyond the hotel, the South Downs National Park is right on the doorstep, or head to Queen Elizabeth Country Park for mountain‑biking routes and challenging climbs.

The booking process was hideous, took about 3 weeks and umpteen phone calls but the break itself was good. Spa staff and treatments were lovely. The hotel room was great but too hot, only way to cool down was to open the window. Evening meal was in the sports bar and service was poor, however the food was excellent.

We have had a great time. We chose Thursday during the half term, arrived around 11:30, and all the facilities were so quiet. A few people here and there. Everywhere: calm, relaxing music. Loved our massage, gym, swimming pool, nice and warm, sauna, and Jacuzzi. The restaurant at the end, with a pint of fresh Guinness, was just the cherry on top. We have had a lovely, relaxing time, and it is well deserved. It is not a luxury modern place, but it serves its purpose well, and we loved every bit of it. For us, a clean environment is more important than being super modern.

Staff were friendly and checked in prior to the day and on the day. The treatment was good. Although you’re allowed to go to the bar in robes I would advise you don’t. Jacuzzi could do with being a few degrees warmer.

A good value for money spa experience, the massage was excellent and all facilities were clean and pleasant. Situated in a busy hotel and golf complex if you want peace and quiet this venue is not for you.

Lovely spa environment. Good size swimming pool. Good sauna and steam room. Really good massage by Amy. Unfortunately we were not told on booking that the pool was shut for 90 minutes for aqua aerobics, we were only given this information the day before. Would have chosen another day (not Thursday) if I had known. Nice lunch although again on a time limit which was slightly awkward due to massage time availability. Over all good day out and would definitely use again and recommend

It does. The attractive indoor swimming pool at Meon Valley has 12 glorious metres to swim in, so it’s ideal for lengths, laps or just for lounging beside, book in hand. There’s a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for unwinding in after your invigorating swim.

Is Meon Valley Hotel, Spa & Golf pet-friendly?

Yes, it is, and both dogs and cats are welcome to stay the night. There’s a small charge of £10 for the first night or £25 per stay, and a refundable deposit is taken just to make sure your four‑legged friend hasn’t redecorated your room. Pets can’t join you in the leisure club, but they’re more than welcome to enjoy the fresh Hampshire air with you around the grounds, if you keep them on a lead.

Does Meon Valley Hotel, Spa & Golf have a golf course?

Love to spa and par? You’re in luck. A little birdie told us that Meon Valley has not one but two championship golf courses, offering a total of 27 holes to play. It’s also Hampshire’s only European PGA Tour destination, so you’re in good hands if you’re after a proper golfing challenge.

The championship 18‑hole course winds through mature oak woodland with tree‑lined fairways, bunkers and beautiful views, while the 9‑hole course is ideal for sharpening your skills or enjoying a shorter round. You’ll also find three tennis courts if a friendly game of doubles is more your bag.
