About

A luxury resort with a serene spa and a beach on its doorstep? Now you’re talking. Tucked between the dramatic mountains and sweeping coastline of North Wales, Marian Resort & Spa is your passport to true switch-off. Whether you're craving crisp sea air, woodland walks or just a robe-and-slippers kind of weekend, this hideaway has everything you need to recharge. There’s even a friendly resident peacock pottering about to welcome you.

Slip away from your chic accommodation and settle into the soothing surrounds of the Elevate leisure centre. Sink into poolside serenity, recline on a heated lounger or let your cares melt away in the sauna, steam room or hydrotherapy contrast showers. Then, just when you thought you couldn’t relax any more, it’s time to go deeper with a trip to Serenity Spa.

With four tranquil treatment rooms, including a dual suite for couples or friends, you’ll be pleasantly pummelled and pampered with products from TRIBE517. This award-winning artisan spa collective handcrafts its products in a 300-year-old barn in South Wales, using ingredients sourced from on-site beehives. Post-treatment, curl up in the relaxation lounge and gaze through floor-to-ceiling windows for breathtaking views out towards the coast.

Feeling active? The state-of-the-art gym and fitness classes will get those endorphins flowing. Or head outdoors to explore the resort’s stunning surroundings. Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Marian Resort is just a short walk from the Dyserth Waterfall, where the River Ffyddion tumbles 70 feet through ancient woodland. Nearby, you’ll find golden beaches, the towering Moel Hiraddug and charming market towns like Rhuddlan and Prestatyn.

When hunger calls, The View Restaurant answers in spectacular fashion, thanks to seasonal Welsh produce served alongside panoramic vistas of the North Wales coastline. For something more relaxed, the Sports Bar and Grill offers comforting classics in a laid-back, dog-friendly setting. Then it’s back to your contemporary room or lodge, where calm and comfort await. Some lodges even come with private hot tubs, perfect for a soak under starry skies, glass of fizz in hand.

The Spa & Wellness at Marian Resort and Spa

Tucked away from the main leisure centre, surrounded by lush greenery and with its own stunning coastal view, Serenity Spa is a peaceful retreat designed for indulgence. Whether you're here for a few hours or a full day of pampering, this sanctuary invites you to slow down, breathe deep and let go.

Step inside and swap the everyday for plush robes, calming scents and the gentle hush of a space designed entirely for you. The spa features four tranquil treatment rooms, including a dual suite for couples or friends who like to spa together. There’s even a serene relaxation lounge with views stretching out to the coast.

Treatments are powered by TRIBE517, an award-winning artisan spa collective that handcrafts its products in a 300-year-old barn in South Wales. With ingredients sourced from on-site beehives and blended with care, their rituals are as sustainable as they are luxurious. Think pink salt grain massages, renewing facials and hot rocking therapies to restore your balance.

If your day’s not complete without a swim, spa day packages include access to the Elevate leisure centre. Hit the heated indoor pool and spa bath, then bask in the sauna and steam room before a blast in the hydrotherapy contrast showers.

The resort is perfectly placed for active adventures outdoors. Lace up for a jog along the Wales Coast Path, which runs right past the nearby seaside town of Prestatyn. Prefer a gentler pace? Try a scenic hike in the Clwydian Range, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just a short drive away. You might even spot red kites, buzzards, or grazing Welsh mountain ponies along the way.

Does Marian Resort & Spa do afternoon tea?

It does, and it’s every bit as indulgent as you'd hope. Served in the light-filled Lounge Bar overlooking the pool, this is your chance to tuck into a classic three-tiered delight. Sweet treats, savoury bites and a pot of something lovely (or a glass of chilled Prosecco if you’re feeling fancy). Best of all? Robes are welcome. Nothing says luxury like eating scones in your slippers!

Is there accommodation at Marian Resort & Spa?

Yes, there is accommodation, and it’s so luxurious you’ll never want to leave. Take your pick between boutique hotel rooms or one of the immersive lodges for that home-from-home feel. Some lodges even have hot tubs for some deliciously private pampering.

With bespoke furnishings and contemporary décor, boutique hotel rooms have power showers, digital TV, free Wi-Fi, and thoughtful touches like exclusive toiletries, tea and coffee facilities. Lodges offer even more space and comfort, with kitchenettes and multiple bedrooms so families can stay together.

What time is check-in and check-out at Marian Resort & Spa?

Where is Marian Resort & Spa?

Marian Resort & Spa is nestled in the charming village of Dyserth, in Denbighshire, North Wales – a region famous for dramatic landscapes, rich history and coastal charm. You’ll find it just ten miles inland from the seaside town of Prestatyn, with sweeping views of the North Wales coastline and easy access to the Clwydian Range, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It’s a brilliant base for exploring the best of North Wales. You’re within easy reach of Snowdonia National Park, Bodelwyddan Castle, and the bustling resort town of Llandudno. Closer to home, you can stroll to Dyserth Waterfall, explore local walking trails, or pop into nearby pubs for a taste of Welsh hospitality.

Who owns Marian Resort & Spa?

Marian Resort & Spa is owned by Lyons Holiday Parks, a family-run company with deep roots in North Wales. They bought the site in 2019 after it had fallen into disrepair. One multi-million-pound makeover later and it’s been fully restored to (even better than) its former glory.

The resort officially reopened in March 2024, with a fresh new look and lots of additional luxury. Lyons Holiday Parks also owns a number of other holiday parks across Wales, but Marian is their flagship spa destination, designed to blend indulgence with local charm.

Is Marian Resort & Spa family-friendly?

It’s more than friendly! This North Wales gem rolls out the welcome mat for families of all shapes and sizes. Kids can splash in the pool from 10am to 12pm and 3pm to 5pm each day, then kick back and relax in spacious hotel rooms or self-catering lodges.

The View has a dedicated children’s menu, or head to the Sports Bar for casual bites and a more laid-back atmosphere. And when you’re ready to explore, you’re perfectly placed for adventure. Dyserth Waterfall is just a 10-minute walk away, or head to Prestatyn Beach for sandcastle-building and sea air. Bodelwyddan Castle, Llandudno Pier and Rhyl SeaQuarium are all within easy reach for day trips.

Is Marian Resort & Spa pet-friendly?

Marian Resort & Spa is sheer, doggy heaven. Pet-friendly lodges are available across all grades, including luxury hot tub lodges and accessible options. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the on-site Sports Bar and Grill.

Just behind the resort, an uphill woodland trail leads to Graig Fawr. Perfect for pups to burn off some energy while their humans take in spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

Does Marian Resort & Spa have a golf course?

Spa robe by morning, golf glove by afternoon? Sounds like a winning combo. Marian Resort & Spa may not have its own golf course, but don’t hang up your clubs just yet. Just three miles down the road, you’ll find Prestatyn Golf Club, a gem of a links course that’s open to visitors.

Prestatyn is the most northerly course in mainland Wales, with the stunning sea views to prove it. Expect well-groomed fairways, a few tricky water hazards and a warm welcome.
