About

Planning a spa break to Scotland’s biggest city? Hilton Glasgow makes a brilliant base – however you like to unwind! Perched on the edge of the city centre, with superb city views and the OVO Hydro and SEC on its doorstep, this stylish hotel is home to a Health & Fitness Club where you can swim, steam and soak to your heart’s content. The real showstoppers, though, are its three Serenity Suites – one for hands-on therapy and two dedicated to ultra-modern, high-tech relaxation. Whichever path you choose, bliss is guaranteed!

Whether you’re in town for a gig, a shopping spree or simply a well-earned breather, you’ll be staying somewhere really special. Opened on St Andrew’s Day 1992, Hilton Glasgow was the city’s first international hotel, and its 20-storey granite and glass tower is still one of the most recognisable shapes on the skyline. Inside, contemporary rooms and suites come with all mod cons (many with glittering city views), plus there’s an executive lounge for those who like a stay with a little extra polish. Fitness fans can even book a ‘Five Feet to Fitness’ room, the first in the UK outside London, complete with its own indoor bike, yoga mat and touchscreen workouts!

Slip into your robe and unwind at the Health & Fitness Club, with its 15m indoor pool, bubbling spa bath, sauna, steam room and experience showers. Got energy to burn? There’s an air-conditioned gym, too. At Serenity, though, the big decision is how you’d like to relax. Feeling holistic? Book an expert massage in the Hands-On Therapy Room. Fancy something high-tech? The Wave Suite offers a contactless dry-water massage, complete with LED light, aromas and your own playlist. Or switch off completely in The Tranquillity Suite, where a heated water bed uses sound and gentle vibration to lull you into a deeply restful state.

When you’re ready to explore, Glasgow’s best bits are close by. Catch a gig at the OVO Hydro, wander the collections at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, or get hands-on at the Glasgow Science Centre. Art lovers can head to the Gallery of Modern Art, design fans can step inside The Mackintosh House, and the Tall Ship at Riverside offers a glimpse of the city’s seafaring past. Then there’s the West End, with its leafy streets, independent shops and buzzing bars, plus plenty of retail therapy along Buchanan Street.

Back at the hotel, settle into Whisky Mist Bar & Kitchen for lunch, dinner and beautifully crafted cocktails. But for something a little more refined, head to The Tea Lounge by Dilmah. The family-owned Sri Lankan tea company chose Hilton Glasgow for its very first UK tea lounge, and it serves light bites and a delightful afternoon tea alongside a menu of single-origin Ceylon teas. But however you choose to unwind, Glasgow's buzz is never far away – and neither is a quiet moment just for you.

The Spa & Wellness at Hilton Glasgow

Opened in September 2025 as the finishing touch to a five-year multi-million pound transformation, Serenity brings a modern take on me-time to the heart of the city. Tucked within Hilton Glasgow’s Health & Fitness Club, it’s a place to slow down, switch off and choose exactly how you’d like to recharge.

Start with a swim in the warm indoor pool, soothe tired limbs in the bubbling spa bath and treat your feet to a soak in the foot spas. Then alternate between the sauna and steam room before finishing with an invigorating blast from the experience and bubble showers.

When it’s time for your treatment, the choice is yours. In the Hands-On Therapy Room, an expert therapist tailors your deep tissue, Swedish, Indian head or pregnancy massage to you. In The Wave Suite, you can lie back fully clothed on the dry-water bed and set your own lighting, music and massage intensity. Or, for the ultimate switch-off, settle into The Tranquility Suite and choose a programme to match your mood, from Stress Relief and Mindfulness to a restorative PowerNap.

Staying overnight on a spa package? A gift from Scottish brand Arran Aromatics will be waiting in your room. Its bath and body products are made on the Isle of Arran, so you can carry on the pampering at home.

The Gym & Fitness at Hilton Glasgow

Packed your trainers? You’ll want to, because Hilton Glasgow’s Health & Fitness Club makes it easy to keep up the good habits while you’re away. Its air-conditioned gym is kitted out with new Precor equipment, so you can pound the treadmill in cool comfort, whatever the Glasgow weather’s doing outside.

Alongside the cardio machines, there’s a free-weights area and a range of resistance machines, plus a Technogym Checkup station to keep tabs on your progress. Need a little motivation? The club’s friendly personal trainers offer one-to-one and small group sessions designed around your goals. Or simply swap reps for lengths in the 15m indoor pool.

For a workout with a view, lace up and head outside. The pretty paths of Kelvingrove Park are a short stroll from the hotel, while the Clyde Walkway follows the river through the heart of the city. It’s perfect for a scenic morning run before your “Big Yin” breakfast!.

Restaurants & Food at Hilton Glasgow

Whether it’s a whisky cocktail after a day of pampering or a pot of something soothing mid-afternoon, Hilton Glasgow has you covered. And come morning, there’s the “Big Yin” to look forward to. A nod to Glasgow’s own Billy Connolly, it’s a locally sourced full Scottish breakfast buffet, with a “Big VEGin” for plant-based guests too!

Whisky Mist Bar & Kitchen

Right at the heart of the hotel, Whisky Mist is all about whisky with a twist. Its skilled bartenders shake up inventive whisky cocktails alongside local and craft beers and an impressive drinks list, so there’s plenty to explore even if you’re not a whisky lover. Settle in for a seasonal lunch or dinner, or swing by in the morning for fresh pastries and hot rolls.

The Tea Lounge by Dilmah

Prefer your pick-me-up with a saucer? The Tea Lounge by Dilmah was the first of its kind in the UK, serving an inventive selection of teas and tea-based drinks in a calm, inspiring setting. Book in for afternoon tea, or simply pause for a light bite between your spa session and an evening out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Hilton Glasgow serve afternoon tea?

It certainly does, and it’s a little bit special. Afternoon tea is served in The Tea Lounge by Dilmah, the first of its kind in the UK! Dilmah is a family-owned Sri Lankan tea company renowned for its ethically sourced, single-origin Ceylon teas, and the team here has even been trained by an award-winning tea sommelier so you’re in expert hands!

Once your pot is poured, tuck into an elegant spread of sandwiches and savouries (often with a Scottish twist – think haggis bon bons), warm scones and seasonal sweet treats. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, and if you’re celebrating, you can add a glass of Prosecco to give the afternoon some extra sparkle.

Does Hilton Glasgow have a swimming pool?

It sure does, so better pack your cossie. The Health & Fitness Club at Hilton Glasgow is home to a warm and inviting 15m indoor pool, perfect for an energising early-morning swim before a day of sightseeing.

Afterwards you can soothe tired limbs in the bubbling spa bath, treat your feet to a soak in the foot spas, then warm up in the sauna and steam room before an invigorating finale under the experience shower and bubble shower. And if you’d prefer your swim splash-free, the pool area is adults-only from 7pm, so you can unwind in peace.

Where is Hilton Glasgow located?

It’s right where the action is! Hilton Glasgow stands on William Street in Anderston, on the edge of the city centre and in the heart of Glasgow’s financial district. You can’t miss its 20-storey tower – it’s one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks. Glasgow Central station is around an 11-minute walk away, and the M8 is right on the doorstep, so getting here couldn’t be easier.

It’s a brilliant base for exploring, too. The shops of Buchanan Street are around a 15–20-minute stroll away, the OVO Hydro and SEC are about a mile away, and the bars and boutiques of the West End are just a short taxi ride away.

What are the rooms like at Hilton Glasgow?

In a word, sleek! With 320 contemporary rooms and suites spread across its 20-storey tower, there’s no shortage of choice, and plenty of them come with sweeping views across the city. Every room is air-conditioned, with 24-hour room service on hand for those moments when you simply can’t bear to leave your robe.

King Rooms are a stylish, comfy base, with a big king-size bed for the perfect post-spa snooze. Deluxe King Rooms offer a step up for a little extra indulgence. Or treat yourself to an Executive King Room, which comes with city views and access to the Executive Lounge, where you can unwind away from the buzz.

What time is check-in and check-out at Hilton Glasgow?

Check-in for overnight guests is at 4pm and check-out is 11am. If you’re coming for a spa day, arrival times vary so do check your booking confirmation.

Is Hilton Glasgow family-friendly?

It certainly is! Children are very welcome at the hotel, with a kids’ menu to keep little appetites happy. Families who want to spread out can book one of eight sets of connecting rooms, each pairing a Double Queen Room (sleeping up to four) with a King Room, plus six further sets of accessible connecting rooms.

Little swimmers can splash about in the 15m indoor pool, as long as an adult joins them in the water (one adult can supervise up to two children under 16). The last children’s swim slot starts at 5.30pm, as the pool goes adults-only from 7pm. Spa treatments are for over-18s only, and under-16s can’t use the gym, spa bath, sauna or steam room.

Beyond the hotel, kids will love getting hands-on at the Glasgow Science Centre, exploring Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, and climbing aboard the Tall Ship at Riverside.

Is Hilton Glasgow accessible?

Yes it is. The hotel has step-free access throughout, disabled parking and spacious lifts. Its accessible bedrooms come with accessible en suite bathrooms, emergency pull cords, and visual and hearing accessibility features. There are also six sets of accessible connecting rooms, ideal if you’re travelling with a companion. Assistance dogs are welcome, and an induction loop is available at reception.

In the spa, there’s step-free access, accessible changing rooms with seated showers and grab bars, and accessible treatment rooms with 39-inch-wide doors. The pool has a hoist, while handrails help you in and out of both the pool and the spa bath. Best of all, carers go free, so you can relax together.

Is Hilton Glasgow dog-friendly?

Sorry, but you’ll have to leave your four-legged friend at home this time, as Hilton Glasgow doesn’t allow pets. Assistance dogs are welcome, though.

Does Hilton Glasgow have a golf course?

Sorry, it doesn’t – this is a city centre hotel, after all. But if you’re itching to swing a club, you won’t have to go far. Just a short hop from Hilton Glasgow, near the OVO Hydro, Golf Fang is an adults-only crazy golf venue with 18 themed holes, each with its own design, covered in real graffiti and neon with a distinctly Glaswegian edge.

And if golf isn’t your game, there’s AR darts and an arcade to keep the friendly rivalry going. It’s a fun way to round off a day of pampering, especially if you’re here with friends or celebrating.
