With bikes, treadmills and cross-trainers, along with weights machines, working out is a breeze. But if you prefer your fitness with friends, there’s a whole alphabet of classes to try in the fitness studio.

Not a gym lover? We hear you. Workout in the sunshine with a game of tennis, or head indoors for a game of pool. Or you could lace up your walking boots and go exploring. Try the White Horse Hill to Ashdown House walk. This four-hour ramble across ancient Oxfordshire paths takes you past a 17th century Dutch-style house along the way.

Relax, unwind, then it’s time to wine and dine, and at Oxford Belfry you’re in for a sophisticated treat. Soak up the countryside views before heading to the bar or one of the hotel’s restaurants. But which one will you choose to round off your perfectly pampered day?

Spires Restaurant

Fancy getting fancy? Oxford Belfry’s Spires Restaurant fits the bill. This foodie hang-out is the destination for smart lunches, elegant afternoon teas and long, lingering dinners. Have a delicate sea bass or a hearty lamb pie. Just make sure you leave room for dessert!

Bar & Lounge

In the mood for a lighter bite? Enjoy sandwiches, stone-baked pizzas and burgers from the comfort of the Lounge. With a relaxed ambience, there’s nothing like sinking into a comfy chair with a coffee (or something bubbly) in hand!

It does, and it’s a beauty. Set in a light and airy conservatory building there are 13 tranquil metres, perfect for unhindered swimming or a leisurely dip gazing up at the sky. After your swim you can pull up a lounger, or unwind in the scented sauna or aroma steam room.

The perfect end to a pampering spa break? Being able to drift off to sleep in a fabulous hotel room. Luckily, Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa lets you do just that in one of 154 fabulous rooms and suites, each equipped with modern amenities and luxurious touches. From Classic to Junior Suites, many also have fabulous views.

You can check in to Oxford Belfry from 3pm, while check-out time is 11am for all residential guests. For day spa experiences, arrival times are usually 10am, but please check your booking confirmation for full details.

You’ll need to bring your swimwear for the fabulous spa facilities, and your gym kit if you fancy a workout in the well-equipped gym. Don’t forget your book or a magazine for all that lounging around you’ll be doing. And, if you’re planning on dinner in Spires Restaurant, you might be more comfortable in something smart/casual.

Yes you can. Parking is free and plentiful at Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa, with 450 spaces. You don’t need to make a reservation, but you do need to register your vehicle at reception.

Yes it is. There’s designated parking for blue-badge holders and minimal steps throughout - all of which can be avoided by taking the lifts or sloping corridors. Out of the six accessible bedrooms, two are fully accessible with wet rooms, while the other four have bathrooms with grab rails.

The ground-floor Health Club and Spa has no pool hoist, but staff are on-hand to assist with access. There’s also a dedicated accessible toilet and changing area, as well as a wheel-in wet room with drop down seat and grab rails. 

Yes it is, with family rooms, dedicated swimming times (8.30am to 10.30am and 3.30pm to 5.30pm) and special menus for picky eaters. Keep them busy with activity packs and board games, or play a game of pool, swing ball or tennis.

There’s plenty for families to do nearby, too. Feed their curiosity with a trip to Oxford Castle & Prison - you can even go on a ghost tour if they’re feeling brave!

Canine pals are welcome at the dog-friendly Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa. Up to two small or medium dogs can join you in your room for £25 per room, per night. Your faithful friend is welcome to join you in the Lounge. Dogs can be left unattended, provided you’re still on the premises - for example, relaxing in the Health Club!. They’ll even give you a ‘Pet-in-room’ sign to hang from your door handle to make sure housekeeping doesn’t disturb your sleeping pooch. 

There’s no golf course at Oxford Belfry but that doesn’t mean you should leave your clubs at home. Round off your pampering treat by teeing off at Waterstock Golf Course, just two miles away. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, the 6,500 yard, Par 72 parkland course also has a floodlit driving range and golf academy.
