About

If you need to get away from it all for a day or two of sheer indulgence, the DoubleTree by Hilton Chester will fit the bill perfectly. Conveniently located close to all this charming mediaeval city has to offer, it’s a pampering paradise that will soothe you from the moment you walk through the door.

Just like the historic city beyond, the hotel is a beautiful blend of old and new. Formerly Hoole Hall, the restored 18th century manor house boasts a stunning cast-iron conservatory and converted stable barn, plus a separate state-of-the-art Club and Spa. In fact, with a sleek indoor pool, steamy outdoor hydro pool, swish thermal suite and mud rasul, there’s so much leisure on offer you won’t know where to point your slipper-clad feet first!.

Sporty type? The DoubleTree by Hilton Chester will be your match made in fitness heaven. There’s a superb Technogym and weekly calendar fitness classes, while lovers of the great outdoors can power walk in the tranquility of 12 acres of exquisite landscaped grounds, stopping only to admire the Victorian walled garden and restored ha-ha wall.

With a just-out-of-town location, the hotel sits on the north-west edge of Chester, where the suburb of Hoole starts to make way for farmland. But it’s still handy for visiting the centre - buses run from right outside or hop in a taxi to be there in ten minutes.

When you’re not being pampered or pummelled to perfection with rituals from Pevonia or Elemis in one of the spa’s 11 sumptuous treatment rooms, there’s plenty to enjoy in the local area. Shop til you drop in the city centre or at the designer outlet Cheshire Oaks. Chester’s famous zoo and its dramatic cathedral are both must-visits, while the highly impressive Roman Gardens are popular. And if you want to travel further afield, Manchester and Liverpool are both within half hour striking distance.

With so much to see and do, along with exquisite dining in the hotel’s Garden Room and Terrace restaurant to linger over, an overnight stay will always be a temptation. Luckily DoubleTree by Hilton Chester’s 219 contemporary rooms are both classy and comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep whenever you decide it’s time to call it at night.

Really enjoyed this stay. Bed and breakfast, 3 course meal and a treatment for such a good price. I’ve paid more for less in other places, so was very impressed. The room was comfy and clean, food was really good and the spa and facilities were very extensive.

Just stayed at the Hilton Doubletree for one night. After some debating as to whether we should do a cheap spa break or spend a bit more for a nicer hotel, we definitely made the right decision spending more and going here. Hotel and spa were both lovely. We all enjoyed our treatment. We weren’t keen on the bean bags in the relaxation room and felt there could have been more loungers. The starry sky was nice though. We had a lovely 3 course meal and only had to pay for drinks. It was nice that the menu was the usual restaurant menu and not different just because we were on a spa break. Overall an excellent spa break and would definitely go back.
