About

In the mood for a spa day in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East? We know just the place. Ideally located between Wexford and Waterford, Brandon House Hotel blends country‑house charm with an award‑winning restaurant and beautifully landscaped gardens overlooking the River Barrow. But for the ultimate rest and relaxation, head straight to its striking Solas Croí Spa – a dedicated wellness sanctuary complete with a luxurious thermal suite, an outdoor plunge pool and even its own reflexology walk.

Nestled on the outskirts of New Ross, this four‑star country manor was once a grand 19th‑century private estate. Step inside and you’ll still find plenty of historical wow‑factor, thanks to majestic high ceilings and grand canted bay windows dating back to 1841. Take your seat in the Library Bar (originally the manor’s private drawing room) for afternoon tea beside the crackling open fire. Or head to The Gallery Restaurant to dine on the exceptional seafood landed daily at Kilmore Quay, surrounded by an extensive collection of original Irish artworks.

But it’s not all about the antique charm. A modern extension houses many of the hotel’s 78 bedrooms, and the most contemporary space of all is the Solas Croí Spa. Set inside its striking architectural dome, the eco spa is home to a 20m heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, along with a specialised sanarium that blends the gentle humidity of a steam room with the deep heat of a traditional Finnish sauna. You’ll also find an indoor pebbled pathway designed to stimulate pressure points and Alphasphere relaxation beds to lull your mind into a deep, meditative state. And if you prefer to unwind al fresco, there’s even an invigorating cold‑water plunge pool for the brave.

The therapists’ expertise is legendary across eight specialised treatment rooms, making a signature Elemis ritual or detox body wrap essential. For those who prefer a high‑energy reset, the health club is packed with fitness and yoga classes alongside state‑of‑the‑art kit to keep your wellness goals on track while you're away.

With original paintings lining the corridors, its own dedicated gallery space and a 25‑foot Norman boat sculpture as a spectacular entrance feature, Brandon House Hotel is a treat for art lovers and history buffs alike. But to get your culture fix further afield, just wander down to the banks of the River Barrow to tour the world‑famous Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience, or take a short drive to the 623 acres of enchanting woodland at the John F. Kennedy Arboretum. For breathtaking coastal views, the dramatic shores of the Hook Peninsula and its iconic lighthouse are easily reached, where you can swap countryside calm for the fresh Atlantic breeze.

The Spa & Wellness at Brandon House Hotel

A trip to the adults-only Solas Croí Eco Spa is all about indulgence. Whether you’re popping in for a glam girls’ day or craving a solo reset, it ticks every box – advanced rituals, pure tranquillity and plenty of chill time!

Your journey begins in the 20m heated indoor pool, a serene spot for a peaceful swim before you drift into the thermal suite. From here, you can retreat to the traditional Finnish sauna, the bubbling indoor Jacuzzi or the classic steam room. Prefer something gentler? Try the sanarium for a milder, sun‑drenched heat, or slip into the warm waters of the indoor hydrotherapy grotto.

Afterwards, brave the outdoor cold‑water plunge pool to shock the system before finding total alignment on the Via Sensus Reflexology Walk – a unique Japanese stone pathway designed to stimulate pressure zones on your feet and restore the body’s natural balance. This mindful path reflects the spa’s eco-friendly ethos: to move away from harsh chemicals and invasive procedures, offering a soulful wellness escape instead.

Enjoy a curated menu of world‑class treatments rooted in the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda to restore inner harmony, alongside high‑performance Elemis botanical facials that leave your skin glowing. And before you return to reality, a session on the spa’s futuristic Alphasphere beds is essential – a multi‑sensory cocoon of warmth, sound, colour and gentle vibration that activates natural self-healing powers and lulls your mind into the deepest state of relaxation

Just a short drive away, you can get your steps up amid the 623 acres of international woodlands at the John F. Kennedy Arboretum.

If you prefer a dramatic coastal backdrop to test your endurance, head to the rugged shores of the Hook Peninsula for sweeping Atlantic views and invigorating seaside hikes. Prefer something flatter?
