I wasn’t sure what to expect before visiting Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel & Spa after reading some mixed reviews, but from the moment we arrived, I was genuinely blown away. Abbie greeted us at the front desk with a beaming smile. We arrived early and our room wasn’t quite ready, but she went above and beyond. She gave us a quick tour of the hotel and made sure we were comfortable by the pool while we waited. The food was exceptional. Every meal, from breakfast to dinner, was faultless and genuinely some of the tastiest food I’ve ever had at a hotel. A huge thank you job to Abbie, who made our stay so memorable, and also to Elizabeth and Izzy for their warm service throughout. An amazing place. We’ll definitely be returning and can’t wait to try another Macdonald spa soon.

Not really any explanation of what to expect where to go after massage. Massage was nice. Was shown to a changing room where the hairdryers didn't work, had to cross dining area half dressed to get to other main changing room with more facilities. Hotel as a whole (the bit we went to (spa and conservatory)) slightly tired in places and under staffed. Tables in conservatory all piled with plates and afternoon tea stands, not cleared away. Sandwich option limited: No pescatarian option. Afternoon tea very cake heavy, it would have been nicer if sandwiches had more choice.
