About

A farm stay may conjure up images of muddy wellies and hay bales. But the four‑star Llety Cynin has hotel luxury in spades – and enough wow-factor to tempt even dedicated city slickers out to the sticks. Yes, it’s set on a working dairy farm in the heart of West Wales. But because this converted coach house blends the comforts of a serene spa hotel with countryside surroundings and animal encounters, it’s a rural retreat that will soon have you flocking to pastures new!

Feel thoroughly pampered as you reconnect with nature at this gorgeous Welsh wellness escape. Llety Cynin is the cream of the crop when it comes to modern indulgence thanks to 13 stylish guestrooms with stylish decor and fabulous views., Some feature sloped ceilings so you can stargaze in bed, while the hotel’s best room, The Cwtch, lets you relax in the bath and watch the chickens on the farm.

The spa and leisure club are true highlights, with a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room and a fully equipped fitness suite. Melt into an organic Pevonia treatment before dining on locally-sourced dishes in the cosy Penny Bar & Restaurant. Where else could you watch sheep grazing in the fields while sipping your Prosecco?

Outdoorsy type? Go fishing on the River Cynin or forest bathing on the hotel’s woodland walk. Animal lovers can get up close and personal to the resident cows, pigs and goats. But because the hotel is right on the Carmarthenshire – Pembrokeshire border, it’s just a stone’s throw from some of Wales’s most popular attractions. The Pembrokeshire Coast is within easy reach, while the Brecon Beacons tempt with rugged peaks and waterfalls. For gentler days, the nearby market town of St Clears brims with independent shops, while heritage sites like Laugharne Castle add a dash of history to your spa break.

Our tip, though, is to linger close to home and savour the perfect blend of rural charm and indulgent luxury. Llety Cynin is a place where spa seekers, nature lovers and foodie fans alike can all find their happy place. Whether you come for the treatments, the food, the animals or the scenery, this is one Welsh retreat you’ll want to return to again and again!

The Spa & Wellness at Llety Cynin

Tucked away in the rolling hills of West Wales, the spa and leisure club at Llety Cynin is a sanctuary of calm where wellness and indulgence meet. Step inside and you’ll find a 12m heated indoor pool that invites you to glide through the water, before easing into the sauna, steam room or hot tub to let warmth and bubbles melt away the day.

Three treatment rooms are designed for total tranquillity, with expert therapists ready and waiting to pamper you with Pevonia’s range of natural and organic spa rituals. Opt for a soothing massage or a results‑driven facial, before a CND mani or pedi provides the final polish.

Pad along to the relaxation room to pause and reflect – or simply unwind and let the quiet envelop you. Here, every detail is designed to help you disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with yourself, leaving you ready to step back into the world looking and feeling your best.

The Gym & Fitness at Llety Cynin

You’ve de-stressed in Llety Cynin’s incredible spa. Now it’s time to crush your fitness goals, and the on-site leisure club lets you do just that. The modern gym is kitted out with cardio equipment, plus weight machines and free weights for strength training. If you prefer a little motivation, why not join one of the regular pilates or aqua fitness classes for a small extra charge?

Step outside for a gentle woodland walk, or head out to the surrounding Carmarthenshire countryside. There are longer walks and fishing to be had along the River Cynin that flows through the bottom of the farm, or explore nearby trails by bike.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try kayaking or paddleboarding on the River Taf, or tackle some coasteering at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. But if that’s not enough, heading inland to the Brecon Beacons offers plenty of ways to get your heart pumping, from hiking and biking to waterfall walks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Llety Cynin do afternoon tea?

It does and it’s a real highlight! With menus that change with the season and plenty of themed surprises, expect a few innovative twists among the dainty finger sandwiches – guests rave about the sausage rolls and Welsh rarebit!

Expect dainty cakes, scones with jam and clotted cream all served with a steaming cup of something aromatic (or a glass of something bubbly). Afternoon tea is served at The Penny Bar & Restaurant, and comes as part of many of the spa packages on offer. And believe us, it’s worth every calorie.

Is there a swimming pool at Llety Cynin?

There sure is! The attractive indoor pool is 12m in length, so there’s plenty of room for your laps. After your swim, you can unwind in the bubbly spa bath before hitting the sauna and steam room.

Is there accommodation at the Llety Cynin?

You bet there is, and it’s every bit as inviting as the spa itself. Llety Cynin has 13 stylish guest rooms, each blending modern comfort with countryside views. Some are set up with multiple beds, making them perfect for groups of three, four or even five – ideal if you’re planning a spa break with friends.

Couples or solo spa‑seekers can opt for doubles or twins, while the showstopper is The Cwtch. This best‑in‑house room lets you soak in the bath while gazing out at the farmyard– a quirky, cosy touch that guests adore.

Each room comes with lots of mod-cons, from free WiFi and smart TVs to tea and coffee making facilities and in-house Welsh cakes! And because they’re all furnished using Melin Tregwynt fabrics, produced locally, you’ll soon feel right at home.

What are check-in and check-out times at Llety Cynin?

Check‑in is usually from 4pm, while check‑out is by 10am on your day of departure. But keep your eyes peeled because some of the spa packages on offer let you check-in at 3pm and leave at 11am. Where is Llety Cynin located?

Llety Cynin is tucked away on a working dairy farm in Carmarthenshire, West Wales, with the Cynin river flowing at the edge of the farm. This converted coach house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland, yet you’re only about a mile from St Clears, a quaint market town on the Wales Coastal Path.

The location is also a dream for exploring further afield. Being right on the Carmarthenshire–Pembrokeshire border, you’re in prime position for day trips to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, or inland to the Brecon Beacons. Literary fans will love nearby Laugharne, forever linked with Dylan Thomas, while history buffs can roam castles and heritage sites dotted across the region.

What’s the history of Llety Cynin?

This welcoming Welsh hideaway started life as a stone coach house. In the mid‑2000s, the building was lovingly transformed, with a full renovation between 2006 and 2008 that turned the original building into stylish guest accommodation.

The project added 13 en‑suite rooms, a leisure club, spa, restaurant and bar, while still keeping the rustic look. But the story didn’t stop there. In 2017, Llety Cynin was extended again, adding more space for events, weddings and wellness.

Is Llety Cynin family-friendly?

Thinking of bringing the ankle‑biters to West Wales? Llety Cynin is a great choice for family fun. Family rooms sleep up to five, so everyone can pile in together without feeling cramped. One room even features a sofa that actually converts into a bunk bed!

While you have to be 16 for a treatment in the spa, younger guests are welcome in the pool at daily family swim sessions. Children under 14 can’t use the sauna, spa pool or steam room, and must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times (one adult for every two children).

Back on dry land, the Penny Restaurant makes mealtimes easy with kids’ menus full of tasty options like burgers and ice creams. There’s a children' s playground and woodland walk to help them let off steam after they’ve eaten. And because Llety Cynin sits on a working dairy farm, little ones can enjoy the novelty of seeing the cows being milked.

For adventures beyond the farm, you’re perfectly placed for family days out. Enjoy rockpooling and sandcastle building at Pendine Beach, discover the castle on the hill at Llansteffan Beach. or head to Morfa Bay Adventure for outdoor activities with the whole family.

Is Llety Cynin accessible?

Yes, it is. Not only are there two accessible bedrooms, the hotel and its leisure club are easy to navigate, with helpful staff who are proactive and supportive.

Is Llety Cynin pet-friendly?

Sorry! Llety Cynin isn’t pet‑friendly, so your four‑legged friends will have to sit this one out. While you might spot cows in the fields or squirrels in the woodland, dogs and other pets aren’t allowed to stay in the guest rooms.

Is there a golf club at Llety Cynin?

No, there’s no golf club at Llety Cynin. But visitors get a warm welcome at Derllys Court Golf Club, less than ten miles from the hotel. Set in the Carmarthenshire countryside, this 18‑hole, par‑70 parkland course offers challenging play with spectacular scenery. The panoramic vistas from the summit are well worth pausing your swing for!
