Time Out and Tea for Two Spa Day

I booked this for my Mum and me as a treat for her 50th birthday. We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed the experience. Firstly, the staff at Bannatynes in Inverness are just lovely. I found everyone really pleasant, helpful and friendly. I was caught in roadworks on the way up to Inverness and called as I was panicking I might be late. The girl on the phone was excellent and she could not have been more helpful and accommodating! We made it in time and the massage and facial were wonderful. The facilities are modern and having two whirlpools, steam rooms and saunas mean it doesn't feel too busy or overcrowded. The afternoon tea was yummy and served by yet again more friendly and accommodating staff. All in all a fantastic experience I would recommend for a treat.

I gave a spa day as a gift to my partner, who enjoyed the experience overall, but was disappointed that they were asked to pay an additional £1.60 on the day! It may be a small amount, but as I had booked and paid over the phone the previous week there should have been no extra cost to cover. Having to search for change detracted from the relaxing experience. However, they rated the treatments and facilities as good, and would consider returning.

I was given my Pamper Day Voucher from my brother, and enjoyed being spoilt immensely.  The staff really looked after me and it was everything I could have wished for.  I will, hopefully be able to have the whole experience again.

Having experienced this type of day before I wanted to introduce some friends to this idea. As this was my daughter's 21st I was keen that it be special and enquired about bringing champagne and balloons. Although staff were very amenable to this idea on the phone and at reception it was not followed through. We had to frequently ask about what was happening and prompt staff to instigate what we had previously put in place. Having said that the centre was very clean and the actual treatment I received (massage and facial) was excellent although my daughter and friends did not receive the same quality and felt slightly dissatisfied with the way the treatments were given.

Not bad for the price, but not great either

My friend and I booked into Bannantynes for a post xmas relaxing spa day. Bearing in mind that the spa is within whats actually a health club, our expectations were not up there with day spas like The Sanctuary or Nirvana, and we did pay a very reasonable price for day but I still have to say overall I was slightly disappointed. The confirmation email said that we should arrive at around 10am to get our itinerary for the day - we wanted to get there early so we could visit the gym and the pool. The receptionist took us up to the spa area to get our robes and slippers. The staff seemed somewhat shocked to see us there at that time and asked us for a printout of the confirmation email. I didnt have this with me, as was away from home and had forgotten to bring it. I did assume this would not be that much of a problem as knew that spa seekers had booked the treatments for us. However it seemed to be a HUGE problem and they told us that if we didnt have the printout, we would have to pay for our treatments again! I was pretty shocked. In the end, my friend had to go to their sales office (in her robe!) to access her email remotely and print off the confirmation. It goes without saying that it took me a while to relax into my massage. Spa Seekers handled the booking well, they were helpful and efficient. That said the treatment was actually really nice and the therapist was lovely. But my rating overall reflects the disatisfaction I felt from the confusion over the booking. Its also worth saying that initially when I booked, I found a package that I wanted (included a Leighton Denny pedicure) but when I called up to book I was told I couldnt have it and it shouldnt have been on the website! Overall I think the spaseekers website is a really good idea and there are some great offers. However I feel that Spa Seekers could have stressed more that we should have taken our booking confirmation on the day, albeit it was in their small print.
