Booking the spa was easy and Wakefield Bannantyne soon contacted me to confirm treatment times. I visited the spa with my daughter, as we both had events coming up opted for manicures and decided these would be better done in the afternoon so we could enjoy the spa facilities in the morning. The pool, saunas and hot tub are a good size and everything is clean and new. I would be happy to return but be aware you pay separately for hire of the robe and slippers (you get to keep the slippers) and you need to take an old style £1 coin for the locker or a trolley token.
Lauren & her staff made our visit fabulous. Treatments and advice were very professional.
I bought my mum a Mum's the Word voucher for Mothers Day and overall we had a lovely day. There was a little confusion over my voucher on arrival but this was soon rectified and the Manager was most helpful.
The spa package included e treatments and afternoon tea and whilst the facial was excellent , I felt the manicure and pedicure was a little rushed although the therapists were lovely and very welcoming I think they were probably overbooked as I heard another lady complain about her treatment being rushed too.
The facilities in the health club (pool, sauna, etc.) were basic but fine. It was extremely busy so not very relaxing but I suppose it was a Bank Holiday. All in all we had a lovely day and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful, nothing was too much trouble (The manager even lent me a hairbrush as I'd forgotten mine) I think it was definitely value for money as I paid £99 for both me and mum. If you prefer it to be more peaceful I'd perhaps go midweek .
Visited today for Pamper & Prosecco for 2, I booked this for my friends birthday. The facilities were great and the staff were very nice. Only down fall was I’d booked us to be in the same room and they’d put someone else in the double room so we had to have our massages separate which was a shame and my treatments were supposed to be for 40 minutes and I think I only got 30 mins. Our treatments were lovely though and we really enjoyed our day so I would definitely recommend.
This was a pamper treat for my daughter and I.
The venue is a gym/ health club with pool , steam room , Jacuzzi and sauna essentially, so isn’t an oasis of tranquility you may experience at Spa venue or hotel. It has a dedicated separate treatment area with lovely treatment rooms and a relaxation room, calming music, low lighting and candles .
We booked a deluxe pamper day which included a 55 minute treatment. It wasn’t somewhere we felt was a relaxing place to spend the whole day, but was ok for half a day depending on what you want to do. There is a cafe for snacks and drinks as part of the reception area . The changing rooms were great. Spacious with lots of showers , mirrors and hairdryers. You are charged £6pp for use of a robe and towel so take you’re own if you don’t want this additional cost.
So we thought it was ok for somewhere to have a treatment, swim, etc for the cost of a facial, but not an away from it all retreat.
