About

If you do love to spa beside the seaside, where better than Rise Fitness and Wellbeing? Nestled in the sleek Hilton Bournemouth and just a five-minute stroll from the Dorset town’s seven-mile stretch of butter-soft sand, you can spend the morning paddling and the afternoon enjoying watery relaxation of a much more luxurious kind.

Step inside the soaring glass hotel to discover interiors full of playful touches. Forget cookie-cutter design. Instead you’ll find stylish chaise longues, seagull-like lights overhead and domes of mismatched cutlery in the destination restaurant, Schpoons & Forx. And if you think Hilton Bournemouth’s look has a familiar feel to it you’d be right - its quirky flair comes via the hotel’s part owner - founder of the Ted Baker brand, Ray Kelvin.

If the decor doesn’t wow you, the views surely will. Panoramic vistas across the English Channel are best enjoyed with cocktails in hand, listening to live music from the heated sofas of the buzzing rooftop bar. Called Level8ight, it’s the South West’s highest bar and a real celebrity hangout - this is where the A-list come to stay and play whenever they’re in town.

But tear yourself away from the vistas and head down to the oasis of calm that awaits you in the basement. Rise Fitness and Wellbeing is an underground spa that’s totally devoted to your holistic well-being, with four treatment rooms, a 20m pool and thermal suite. Chill out under the experience showers, stretch out in the relaxation areas, or work out, in a high-end urban gym complete with neon lights and a pumping sound system.

As destinations go, you can’t get much closer to all of Bournemouth’s many attractions. Just steps away from Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens with its aviary, art exhibitions and mini golf, the town centre is an easy stroll, no matter how many shopping bags you’ve acquired. If you tire of the Pier or Sealife Centre, take a drive along the Jurassic Coast or to the nearby New Forest.

With so much to enjoy in the local area, you may decide to check in for the night. And with 173 rooms filled with luxe touches, along with some of Dorset’s glitziest places to eat, drink and be merry, you’ll be very glad you did.

Head down to the basement to the subterranean oasis that is Rise Fitness and Wellbeing, the Hilton Bournemouth’s splendid spa. Here you’ll find everything you need to pamper you from head to toe.

First on your relaxation to-do list? It has to be the treatment rooms. Breathe in the scented air and indulge in rituals designed to stimulate all the senses. Take your pick from a mouthwatering spa menu made up of age-defying Elemis facials, exfoliating scrubs and soul-soothing massages. And with pedicures and manicures adding the perfect finishing touch, you’ll leave here looking brand new.

After your ritual you can sink back into a comfortable lounger in the transition lounge, cocooned in the blissful softness of your fluffy robe and slippers. Your feel-good journey doesn’t end here, though. Not with the blissfully warm indoor pool, bubble pool, steam room and sauna to savour.

The Gym & Fitness at Rise Fitness and Wellbeing at Hilton Bournemouth

Want to bike before breakfast or lunge before lunch? It’s easy at Rise Fitness and Wellbeing at Hilton Bournemouth. Sweat it out in style because this sleek, modern gym is crammed with the very latest kit so you never have to miss a workout.

Forget soulless gyms with harsh lighting and queues for a solitary treadmill. Here, everything is cutting-edge and innovative. In the Arena you can try industry-leading group classes that see you running on treadmill, lifting weights and even doing yoga poses in the glow of the neon lights.

With all the feel of a boutique urban gym, the gym floor itself has high-tech cardio kit, along with free weights and resistance machines. Sweat it out in the gym, do some laps of the pool then rest your tired muscles with a long, relaxing session in the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi.

But if you prefer your exercise in the fresh air, you’re spoilt for choice. Bournemouth beach is just a five-minute walk and it offers seven miles of golden sand to jog along each day - perfect for living out your Baywatch fantasies.

Adventurous types will love the sheer amount of watersports on offer. You can canoe or kayak, sail, surf or windsurf or test your core strength with a spot of stand-up paddleboarding. Or go for something more adrenaline fuelled like wakeboarding, scuba diving or kitesurfing.

Schpoons & Forx

Decadent date night? Meet perfect venue. This smart restaurant on the ground floor delivers upscale British dining, with a lively open kitchen that just adds to the buzz. The brainchild of chef and broadcaster Matt Budden, the restaurant offers a unique twist on traditional British dishes, with the tandoor stone oven adding a unique twist. Ingredients are as local as they come - fresh fish from Weymouth Harbour and melt-in-the-mouth beef fillet from Stokes Marsh Farm.

Level8ight The Sky Bar

Post-spa cocktails always taste better with stunning sea and sunset views. So head for a Bournemouth Pier Martini at Hilton Bournemouth’s glitzy rooftop bar. Found on the 8th floor, the bar menu offers fresh seafood and a variety of small plates, along with afternoon tea served daily between 12pm and 4pm.

Natty’s Jerk Kitchen

The community-led Natty’s Jerk Kitchen started out on a stall in Portsmouth. Word spread and the small gazebo became a local sensation, bringing people together over plates of its smoky and spicy delights. And now you can get a taste for yourself, right here at the Hilton Bournemouth. With a modern twist on Jamaican cuisine, it’s so authentic you’ll feel like you’re in the Caribbean.

That Bar Downstairs

This stylish and relaxed ground floor bar is a great place to come for snacks and coffee by day, and wine and cocktails by night.

Bit of a strange experience compared to a normal spa. Shown through to a spa relaxation room and told to fill out forms. At 5 minutes after the due start time someone came in and led us to room to have the treatments done. The treatment started off nice (it was a full body massage) but then turned into a bit of a pummeling (hard elbows into my back but I figured it might be good for me). There was peaceful music playing, but every so often you'd hear the bang of a door. When the treatment ended the staff stepped out to let us change. When we were ready we went outside the room to find everywhere empty. So we just left at that point! All slightly unprofessional, but the massage was ok.

We managed to check in before 3pm which was great. Our treatments were scheduled for 5:15 pm but we didn`t get in until 5:30. The lounge room was quite packed and we had to wait at the reception. The treatment was good although it went so quick! The pool and spa amenities are quite small so be aware! The hotel was accommodating to our requests so very happy with that and our dinner bill was covered! Amazing location and there is a rooftop bar so did not have to go out! Very good for a weekend getaway.
