It’s not exactly the perfect year for the staycation, is it? Although lots of us are definitely feeling the pinch and thinking twice about booking a foreign trip, staying at home is getting more expensive, and with grotty weather to cheer us all up (sarcasm intended) it seems that even the well-planned stay at home holiday is in jeopardy.
The solution? A spa break. There are so many great deals at the moment, with spas trying to encourage people in to recharge their batteries without breaking the bank balance, and even if it’s just a day in a spa nearby or a couple of days further afield, with deals like a Bannatyne’s Day for One starting at just £35 and a one night spa break for two at the amazing McDonald Hill Valley Golf and Spa Hotel in Whitchurch for just £109 each (with two treatments each, too) there’s nothing stopping you getting out the credit card and booking yourself a bit of summer heaven, where you can experience a bit of relaxation and pampering away from the wind, rain, Olympics and travel chaos.
With sales of St Johns Wort going up by a massive 115% from last June to this June, as a result of the rubbish weather and lack of sunshine, we think that getting your feel good hormones from a great massage in a swanky spa is the obvious solution to the nation’s grumpy mood.
