About

Did someone say ‘mini break’? Famous for its picturesque landscapes, charming villages and glorious coastline, Suffolk may be the smallest of the East Anglian counties, but it’s no slouch when it comes to indulgent hotels. Take Ufford Park Resort, for example. With a swish new spa to swan around in, it’s just a short hop from Ipswich and Aldeburgh - perfect if you like to combine your spa-ing with a little bit of sightseeing.

Within easy reach of both London and the Midlands, this contemporary haven is the ideal destination for a weekend break – or longer, if you’re lucky. Boasting 90 en-suite bedrooms, many with balconies overlooking 120 highly Instagrammable acres of parkland, there’s also an 18-hole golf course, fun crazy golf course, a huge pool and a bustling health club to work out in.

With endless opportunities for both rest and relaxation, or action and activity, unwinding at Ufford Parkis a breeze. A recent revamp has transformed the spa into something truly spectacular, with eight brand new treatment rooms offering signature Templespa rituals, as well as three non-therapist treatment rooms offering something that will impress even seasoned spa aficionados.

Here you can float in a floatation tank filled with magnesium-rich salt water, meditate in the light and sound room, or try one of the four Weyron massage chairs for a range of top-to-toe non-contact massages.

If you can tear yourself away, there’s so much to see and do in the local area, including plenty of retail therapy in nearby Ipswich. The market town of Woodbridge is a lovely place to explore, as is the tranquil Rendlesham Forest. Sutton Hoo’s Anglo-Saxon burial ground is a must-visit, while to the east the scenic beauty of the Thorpeness Heritage Coastline offers so much to lovers of the waterfront.

Back at Ufford Park Resort, the Waterside Bar & Restaurant beckons for morning coffee, afternoon tea or evening cocktails, alongside lashings of countryside views. And when you’re ready, you can float off to bed in one of Ufford Park’s modern bedrooms, from comfortable Classics to spectacular Four-Poster Suites.

Massage was fantastic. Three of us had massages and we all loved them. Best one I've ever had. However some parts were a bit delayed. We had lunch booked at 1pm which was lovely. We then went to spa reception was told to get ready and wait by steps. We spent around 15 minutes waiting for spa code by steps. We asked lifeguard who said she didn't know we were coming and would go find out. Someone then came and showed us the spa. Spa was okay, no issues with sauna or steam room, relaxation room good too. Hydropool- only 2 of the Jacuzzi seats worked out of 4. None of the lie down jets worked at all and no other jets at bottom of pool worked. The Jacuzzi in the swimming part area didn't work either and this steam room was out of order. Also on the website it shows salt pod, mud bath part, massage chairs- none of these were included and were between £20-£40 each per person extra if we wanted to use them. This was not stated on website or when booking!

Had a great day at Ufford Park, the facilities are looking a little worn though, but the actually treatment rooms and treatments were amazing. They need to refurb the changing rooms and tidy up some parts of the actual spa. But overall the day was exactly what we needed, very relaxing and chilled out. We arrived at 10am and left just after 4pm. Lunch was very nice but very limited for 2 vegetarians.

A lovely half day spa treat

The revamped reception and spa area is really nice. Three hours in the thermal area, with limited numbers, meant you often had rooms to yourself, which was lovely. A fantastic 30min Drift Away back massage with warm oils, followed by a delicious lunch over looking the golf course. The staff are great, friendly, attentive and helpful. My one and only criticism is that the changing rooms are quite small.

I brought a spa experience for my friends birthday and my husband brought me one for mine so we could go together. Spa facilities were good, the staff were attentive, we had a drift away massage and it was fantastic, I would highly recommend one. The lunch was included in the price and the Caesar salad was so tasty. I thought it was good value and would do the experience again.
