Friendly, cosy but a bit small My husband booked this \"Lovers Package\" but our treatments booked by the staff were so far apart that we could not spend much time in the spa pool together. Lunch was served in the lounge, where there were no proper table and chairs so we had to try to eat our food while trying to sit/lay on the loungers, which was not a great experience. We were offered drinks when we first arrived. But after lunch, I asked them if I could get tea or coffee somewhere, the reply I expected was \"Sure, we will get them for you, what would you like?\" but I simply got a \"Yeah, if you go out this door and you will see the cafe just across blah blah\" I had to walk over to the cafe area and buy our drinks while dressed in a dressing gown!?? My pedicure treatment was very short and colour was applied without an undercoat, which I think is totally unprofessional. Pool was good. |

Lovely relaxing day My daughter and I had a wonderful spa day. We had no idea what a gem was hidden behind the unprepossessing entrance. We will definitely be going there again! |

Disappointing Spa Day It may be an unfair comparison but having been to Sopwell House for a Spa Day we had high expectations and felt very disappointed with our Spa Day at Gosling Sports Centre. When we arrived we were given very short robes to wear which were scratchy and came half way up our thighs! We were told we had to share the 7 very uncomfortable loungers round the pool because there was not enough for everyone. The swimming pool was very cool but the steam rooms and sauna were excellent. The lunch is extremely basic - despite having a full menu for other users of the facility people on Spa Days get a choice of jacket potato, salad or sandwich. The sandwiches were brought out still covered in cling film! They\'d obviously been made hours before as they were either soggy or rock hard depending on what filing you had! The treatments themselves were excellent but there was only one rather grubby water fountain which squirted out lukewarm water, so we all left feeling very dehydrated. |

fab, relaxing day We had a really lovely relaxing day...the staff were all very friendly and created a nice atmosphere. The treatments were professional and very relaxing and the relaxation room was perfect...we could have spent the day chilling in there! The spa and changing facilities were clean. We will definitely return for another day of rest and relaxation. |

Great Value Lovely day and much needed. Treatments and staff were excellent. For lunch there wasn\'t much choice (salad, sandwich or Jacket Potato) but what we had was nice. Would definitely go back and have already recommended to others. Pool is a little too small to actually swim in (only one lane) but for relaxing in the different Jacuzzi’s it was perfect. If you want to use the gym you need to pre book it - which we didn\'t know in advance, so make sure you do this is you want to use the gym too. |

fantastic experience This was a belated birthday present for my moother and myself. As we visited this spa on one of the first shopping weekends in December we had the spa virtually to ourselves. The retreat has only been open a year the facilities were super. The spa pool and finnish saunas were lovely. The staff were attentive and could not do enough for us. My only slight complaint was the lunch menu could have had a better selection but apart from that we had a lovely day. We did not feel rushed at all and had plenty of time to use all the facilities. Our massages and facials were fantastic and scheduled towards the end of the day so we could feel the full benefit. We would definately visit the retreat again. A fantastic treat! |

New feeling spa The Retreat at Gosling has been going for a year and still feels new, everything is very tidy and clean, staff are friendly and attentive. Gosling Sports Park isn't new, it was an ordeal to find a car parking space and then we were unsure where to go. Reception pointed us to The Retreat which was beautiful, a real oasis. We felt completey away from it all. The facilities were good, the massage and facial were excellent. Lunch was average and we had to walk out the spa to the cafe of the gym. The area was tucked away but still felt a little embarassing to walkt through for lunch. The swimming pool was small and quite cold, didnt really want to stay in there for long but hte steam rooms were excellent with gorgeous smells and the shower that felt like tropical rain and had fragance added was gorgeous. The relax area was nice but the loungers were a little flat and uncomfortable. The showers of the gym were had to use and had no hooks or shelves for bottles. The manicure/pedicure which turned out to be literally a file and a paint was disappointing. The therapists were lovely girls but nails started chipping next day and after all the water could have done with some moisturiser. |
