In parts Walton hall dates back to the 1500s. If walls could speak they would tell of royal love affairs and society gatherings, of toil and craftsmanship to the highest degree - scenes that are only bestowed upon such quintessential English stately homes.
The tale of the Mordaunt family, who created the ancestral home of Walton Hall, goes back to the 1500s, when Robert of Turvey in Bedfordshire married local heiress, Barbara L'Estrange. The oldest parts, the Hall's cellars and front of the estate's chapel, date back to this time.
Walton Hall sits in 65 acres of countryside, just 7 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon and 7 miles from Warwick. You'll arrive along tree-lined driveways, gaze over manicured lawns and relax by the large carp lake.
Relaxation & Pampering
As you'd expect there's an extensive list of facilities for you to use. The large leisure club is close to the Orchard, Woodland and Stable Block dwellings on the estate, so you don't have far to walk. There is a good selection of beauty treatment rooms and the care and service is second to none.
You can choose from a wide range of treatments, from facials to body massages and de-toxifying body wraps. The spa welcomes both men and women.
If beauty's not your thing, you can improve your fitness on the floodlit tennis court or improve your golf swing with a PGA lesson on site. Plus there's a Wella professional hair salon on site if you want a top to toe treatment whilst you're here.
Exercise & Activities
Walton Hall is a great venue for fitness. You can choose a hard workout in the Bodysense gym which has a great range of weight training and cardio-vascular equipment. There's always someone on site that can show you the ropes, or help to devise a training program.
If you prefer to join in a fitness class, then you can join us in the dance studio where we'll take you through an aerobics class.
Afterwards you can cool down with a dip in the pool or rest tired muscles in the spa bath and sauna. Alternatively you can work out your lungs with a refreshing walk around the grounds. You've 65 acres to explore.
Unique Attractions
Walton Hall is the former ancestral home of the Mordaunt family so you can take time out to marvel at the beautiful stained glass window over the large Hall staircase, or the family portrait of Sir John Mordaunt. The Hall's history is colourful and exciting and includes a scandalous love affair by a former Lady of the house with the Prince of Wales - later King Edward VII.
You're not far from Stratford-upon-Avon, so you could take a ride to see the birthplace of William Shakespeare. If you're with family, then Warwick Castle is definitely worth a visit. This is classed as Britain's Greatest mediaeval Experience.
A little further a field is the stunning Blenheim Palace - birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Or why not try your luck at Warwick racecourse? Wherever you want to go, it's easy because Walton Hall is within easy access of Junction 15 of the M40.
