Description

Set in its own extensive, landscaped gardens in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, Ragdale Hall combines state of the art facilities with the charm of traditional Victorian architecture to create one of the most luxurious and relaxing health resorts in the country. Everything at Ragdale is designed to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Whether it is to reduce stress levels or to get fit, to tone up or just be totally pampered, the team of over 400 professional and friendly staff will be there to look after you.

Accommodation

Ragdale Hall has 91 bedrooms, all of which are non-smoking. The rooms are split into five categories due to their size, comfort and location within the building. All rooms offer a bath, shower and WC en-suite, a remote control TV with satellite and radio, telephone, hairdryer, mini safe and tea and coffee making facilities. There are four standard twin rooms in a separate Lodge two minutes walk from the main building.

Cuisine

One of the delights at Ragdale Hall is the extensive choice of really healthy, delicious and beautifully presented food. Naturally, food is the focal point of any visit and the variety on our menus is designed to appeal to weight watchers and gourmets alike. The dining room has a relaxed, informal atmosphere, where you can enjoy tasty and appetising meals, accompanied by a glass of wine should you so wish. In addition, light meals, healthy home-made cakes and a wide selection of speciality beverages and drinks can be enjoyed in our Verandah Bar.

Relaxation & Pampering

Ragdale Hall boasts a totally unique water complex incorporating two beautiful swimming pools and a brand new multi million pound Thermal Spa. The 25 metre lane pool has a separate activity area with a cascade and massage jets for the lower back, feet and shoulders. The separate Exercise Pool provides a full programme of daily classes using water’s natural buoyancy plus Aqua Gym equipment. The Thermal Spa features a Candle Pool, indoor/outdoor Waterfall Pool and a series of unique heat and water features.

Exercise & Activities

The range of exercise classes and fitness activities is as extensive as any in the country and is continually updated to offer the very latest and most enjoyable workouts available. The state of the art gymnasium provides the ideal environment for a full body workout with distinct zones for cardiovascular exercise, toning and postural training. To add to your enjoyment our cardio theatre facility will entertain you whilst you work! The choice of classes in our two spacious, air conditioned studios is amazing, ranging from the more traditional aerobics and sculpting classes to some unique, eastern influenced options. Only at Ragdale could you experience Chinese Wand, Dragon Fan and the pool based Yoqua and Aqua Chi, giving you a new dimension of mind-body fitness.

Timeout

Ragdale provides the perfect environment in which to relax. Whether you choose to join one of the varied relaxation classes or to find a quiet corner by yourself to read or just relax, you will find calmness and tranquillity. If you enjoy shopping, there are three lovely shops, one selling the many skincare and make-up ranges that are used in the beauty treatments. The others specialise in designer fashions, leisure and sports wear as well as unusual gifts, jewellery and lingerie. A Mind Gym provides an area to test your mental agility.

Outdoors

The beautiful gardens offer an ideal place to savour the pleasure of being far away from it all and to totally relax whilst listening to the therapeutic sounds of many water features. Ragdale offers an excellent range of outdoor activities from a leisurely game of croquet on the lawn, to boules or a spot of pitch and putt, through to more energetic pursuits such as tennis and cycling.

    slipping standards!
This is the fourth year in a row I have stayed here and each year has been slightly worse than the last!We had a room next to an office that was in use from 6am onwards, you couldn't relax in your room because the staff in the next room would bang and talk and giggle all day!!! The Thermal spa rooms definately need some tlc one of the rooms had broken wooden seats. The mind gym also needs looking at; there are no instructions for many of the games, the electronic games had no batteries in any of them! The housekeeping staff not once re-stocked the toilet roll in the bathroom we had to find someone and ask for it! (we stayed for 4 nights). I know they can do better as the first year we went was amazing it is such a shame they have let it become so bad I don't think I will be going again not unless I get some sort of gaurantee that improvements have been made!

    Booked again next year
Beautiful Spa area & swimming pools & Jacuzzis. Thermal Spa was absolutely wonderful. I could only attend limited amount of exercise classes (due to my physical ability) but the water exercises were good fun for all types & sizes & no one was made to feel inferior. Treatments good.Staff were very kind & treated all with respect & very halpful. Food mainly very good & plenty of it.Minor negatives were my economy room was rather small & TV not working properly with wires hanging out the back. Not much privacy from seating area outside which could easily be remedied by net curtains or blind instead of having to pull thick curtains during hot day cutting out air & light to get changed.Restaurant Service not quite as good as last year & waiting time to be served, at times, was unacceptable despite it not being too full. - room service was absolutely abismal & I had to complain.
