About
Desperately seeking relaxation, exploration or recreation? A spa break to the gorgeous Solent Hotel & Spa gives you all three. With an award-winning spa, an incredible location between Southampton and Portsmouth and more leisure facilities than you can waft an aromatherapy candle at, this Hampshire haven will help you unwind without a care in the world.
Don’t be fooled by its modern exterior. Step inside and you’ll find character and artful design touches in abundance, from the large, open-plan reception with its grand staircase to the chic parquet flooring eclectically paired with wooden ceiling beams. And, when it comes to spoiling you, this 4-star hotel really has it all, from 117 cosy guest rooms to a first-class AA-rosette awarded restaurant and a stunning al fresco terrace with outdoor grill.
The vibe here is effortlessly relaxed and unfussy. But the cherry on top? A spa with a converted-barn feel that’s the whole pampering package. Swim in the inviting 13m pool, sample the Caudalie and Templespa rituals, or soak in a bubbling outdoor hot tub while sipping on something just as effervescent. There’s even a gym with an activity studio crammed so you can work out while you chill out.
Squirrelled away between mature woodland and ancient meadowland, you’ll feel like you're miles away from anywhere. But despite its retreat-like atmosphere, the hotel has cities, coast and countryside on its doorstep. Because it’s just off the M27, Southampton and Portsmouth make for easy day trips, but you’re also close to the New Forest and the postcard-pretty seaside villages dotted along the coastline.
Outdoorsy type? Lace up your walking boots and head to nearby Manor Farm Country Park and Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve. More of a shop til you dropper? The Whiteley Shopping Centre in Fareham will scratch your retail itch - it’s just a 15-minute walk away.
When you’re tired of shopping, strolling and sightseeing, your comfortable bed at the fabulous Solent Hotel & Spa beckons. And with such a superb range of amenities to enjoy whilst you’re here, every visit feels like an extra special one.

The Spa & Wellness at Solent Hotel & Spa
Whether you’re planning a catch-up, a celebration, or some one-on-one time with your nearest and dearest, nothing says indulgence quite like a spa break to the Solent Hotel & Spa. When it comes to spoiling you, you’re in safe hands - the spa won Best Spa Manager and Best Health and Fitness Spa at the World Luxury Spa Awards in 2022.
This oasis of tranquility looks out onto the lush greenery of woodlands and meadows - the perfect setting for your day of sheer escapism. Put your robe on and your worries down, because everything you need to unwind is right here.
First stop, the indoor pool. Set in a space that looks like a converted barn thanks to its wooden-beamed ceiling, 13m of tranquil azure water awaits for laps or a refreshing dip. Lounge poolside with a book, or go on a sensory journey through the hot tub, colour therapy sauna and fibre optic steam room
Eight zen-like treatment rooms encourage you to drift off and let go. Alongside results-driven facials and body rituals from Mediterranean brand Templespa, you’ll find a whole menu of Caudalie treatments to try. This family-owned French skincare brand uses natural ingredients from vines and grapes.
Just be sure to leave time to bathe in nature with a glass of bubbly at the outdoor hydrotherapy pool, found in the hotel’s own meadow. Although you pay extra (currently £45 per hour for two people, maximum six people, price subject to change), you’ll get this treat all to yourselves for one luxurious hour.
Apply the final finishing touches to your spa escape with a mani/pedi or beauty treat, then float out of the spa, glowing from top to toe.
The Gym & Fitness at Solent Hotel & Spa
Serious about your fitness? So is the Solent Hotel & Spa. Whether you’re already a self-confessed gym bunny or a total newbie, friendly staff are on-hand to help you reach your full fitness potential.
The gym here has all the machines you need for a full-body workout, with state-of-the-art features and technology to help you in reaching your goals. Love gizmos and gadgets? You’ll enjoy the latest Technogym equipment, along with running machines, cross trainers and weights.
Add some variety to your workout with a group exercise session. Great if you don’t like to go it alone, the weekly timetable is crammed with classes, from low-intensity options like yoga, Flex & Stretch or Yin meditation, to high-energy cardio sessions such as indoor cycling and Spin. They’re a fantastic way to get fit and have fun with friends.
But if your idea of a workout involves lungfuls of fresh air amid stress-busting scenery, you’re in for a treat. The hotel has its own floodlit tennis courts and a petanque course for a bit of friendly competition, along with a nature trail heading out from the grounds through the beautiful woodland.
Restaurants & Food at Solent Hotel & Spa
Suitably pampered, it’s time to spoil yourself with some indulgent eating and drinking. Luckily at the Solent Hotel & Spa, you’ll find the food is every bit as fine as the spa treatments…
FYR
At this theatrical AA-rosette-awarded restaurant chefs cook on an open-fire grill so you get to watch all the action! Feel entertained as you sample the freshest local seafood and grilled meats, served alongside an expertly-curated drinks menu. Dishes here are all about great-quality ingredients, cooked simply to allow the flavours and textures to shine. Make sure you try the FYR signature steak. It’s aged for a minimum of 28 days and cooked to your exact specifications - right in front of your eyes!
Meadow Bar
Time for a sundowner? The adjoining Meadow Bar makes a great spot for an al fresco cocktail or two, served with light bites like nibbles, bar snacks and sandwiches. Backing onto a charming woodland, there’s also a fantastic firepit to gather around with marshmallows for cooler evenings.
Parson’s Collar
Located just over the road but still owned by the hotel, the Parson’s Collar is the Solent Hotel’s very own pub. With a modern setting and a sunny beer garden, you can go for a tipple (including the hotel’s own award-winning Thwaites Ale), a wood-fired pizza or some traditional pub grub.
