I think I might have found my next ‘must-try’ spa treatment – just need to get myself down to one of the luxurious Macdonald Hotel Spas for a pamper day as soon as I can to try out their brand new ‘Paradise Escape’ signature treatment. It’s available at all the Harmony and Serenity Spas from February, and it sounds like just the sort of treatment I could do with to take me away to an indulgent place and forget about the fact it’s actually wet, windy February!

If you’re thinking about spending a spa break in Wales, you could do a lot worse that Wales’ largest spa. The Vale Resort near Cardiff. The lovely spa has just been refurbished to the tune of 250,000 and has been winning awards left, right and centre, including being the top rated 4* hotel in Wales, and a Good Spa Guide five bubbles award.

In-spa Holistic Slimming
I’m always up for finding out about new ways of doing things, and I love anything with a holistic slant, so when I came across the idea of hypno-gastric banding I had to find out more. I don’t really fancy a gastric band – pretend or real – because I can’t really imagine anything worse than having to puree my dinner every day – but the idea of hypnotising obese people into believing that they are actually going through gastric surgery and physically can’t eat very much is really intriguing.

Latino Spa Goddess
Are you feeling settled into 2012 yet? Feels like home already, doesn’t it? How are the resolutions coming along? Mine are doing pretty well as I didn’t really make any. The man always used to laugh at me when I set another resolution to lose weight or exercise more, and I have to confess that one thing this spa goddess is not good at when on a spa day is exploring the gym. Well, there are treatments to be sampled and chilling out to be done – I can usually manage a swim but that tends to be as energetic as I get.
