Having been through a particularly hectic month at work, I really needed to unwind when I arrived at The Ickworth, and I wasn't disappointed. There is a really nice atmosphere in the hotel, and the people who work there were very friendly and helpful. I’d recommend the spa to anyone, because it’s just about the most relaxing place I've ever been in. The food in the restaurant in the evening was delicious, and I was pleased to note the portions were generous, too! If you’re looking for a place that allows you to forget all about stress, then I can recommend.
The hotel is in the grounds of a National Trust property and entrance is free to guest with a voucher via reception. Room, staff and food very good. Lovely massage but note the indoor pool is all there is, no sauna or steam room, it is also located in a separate building.
It’s a family oriented hotel so lots of children around during the day, in the pool and at breakfast, that wasn’t a problem for us.
The massage was good, but no Jacuzzi, steam or sauna, and swimming pool you had to walk to outside with no loungers. The setting of woodland and hotel rooms with roaring fires made up for it though.
The estate is indeed a beautiful place. However, I strongly recommend avoiding to stay at the Lodge. The Lodge is located far away from the main building, and the path to the Lodge is in a complete...... Read more
