Well, it’s a hard job but someone has to do it – I was sent off to Colchester to sample the joys of the Clarice House day spa in Essex the other day and I’d thoroughly recommend a trip if you’re thinking of a spa day. I can quite honestly say I had one of the best massages I’d ever had there, after a stressful week, and it was much needed as I was off for a weekend with the family to a gathering on the south coast and much as I love my relatives, all that catching up can take it out of a girl. Added to the weeks of school holidays and a few childcare issues, that hour long massage was a piece of heaven that left me ever-so slightly disoriented!
It was part of the Deluxe Spa Day at Clarice House, and came with a half-hour Germaine de Cappuccini facial, manicure and pedicure – all perfect for my family photos the following weekend! The massage segued into the facial seamlessly, and I have to give full marks to the lovely Vicki who did all of my treatments. The food at Clarice House is delicious too, although I couldn’t manage the full three courses after a filling salad and then fish and chips (yes, really) as a main.
I’m now a total convert to Germaine de Cappuccini exfoliating scrub, which Vicki used as part of the facial, and of course had to buy some on my way out. It smells fresh and mentholly – if that is actually a word – and leaves my skin all fresh and tingly so I can have a reminder of that glorious hour and a half at Clarice House whenever I use it.
