I’m really in the mood for a really good exfoliation at the moment! I know that sounds rude but when the sun starts to come out and my arms emerge from under jumpers I start researching spa weekend deals to perk me up – and my skin, which has been hidden under long sleeves since about October and could do with a good, professional scrub.
The latest treatments I quite like the sound of are all available at different spas in the UK, I’m sure I can feel a spa review coming on (flutters eyelashes madly).
Grayshott Hall is a bit of a favourite and at the moment they have lots of lovely offers on. I’m loving the sound of their Taste of Grayshott break, which you can do over a weekend or during the week, with a Himalayan Mineral Salt Scrub one of the options on the menu. It sounds like 25 minutes of complete bliss, with its gorgeous smelling Aromessence aromatherapy oils and mineral salts – could be just what I need to revive my poor old skin.
Elemis has always been a favourite of mine, too, when it comes to body scrubs. I’ve been a fan of their Exotic Lime and Ginger Salt Glow for a long time – I’ve had the full body treatment before and oh my stars it leaves your skin feeling so gorgeously soft. It also makes you not want to shower for ages because the smell of that scrub is absolutely divine. If you have the treatment in-spa (it’s on the menu at many UK spas) you’ll have the benefit of a therapist to scrub your back for you, as well as the little extras involved in the proper, full-on treatment: body brushing to get your lymph flowing and gorgeous warm oil massage.
If you want to try it at home (and have someone on hand to scrub the awkward bits for you) you can buy the scrub from the Elemis Skincare section of the SpaSeekers website too. Try it – and tell me what you think of *that* smell….
