Lifehouse Spa and Hotel pledged that 2013 would be the year it supported Macmillan Cancer Support and true to its word, the Essex spa hotel has set its first dedicated fundraising challenge by organising a sponsored walk from Walton Pier to Clacton Pier next week.
The walk takes place on Wednesday 10th July and the team hopes to raise funds for people living with cancer and their loved ones. To create a buzz, and get as many people involved as possible, Lifehouse is calling on its members and team to get involved and sign up for the seven-mile walk which is sure to be an inspiring evening for all who take part. Hopefully, the weather will be great next week as we've been promised a heat wave, so if you’re in the area – support your local spa and help raise funds for a great cause!
Lifehouse Spa & Hotel proprietor Peter Murphy said;
“With one in three people expected to get cancer in their lifetime, Macmillan Cancer Support is a hugely important charity for those who are either living with or have a loved one living with the disease.
“For the organisation to continue its great work, it’s imperative to support in any way possible, which is why we've chosen them as our charity partner for 2013 and we are excited to have this sponsored walk as our first dedicated fundraiser. We hope to raise as much as possible and look forward to taking part in the challenge on the 10th July.”
The walk starts at 18:30 in the Walton on the Naze car park, and should take around 2 ½ hours. Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Martello Inn on Marine Parade.
Ready, set…and off you go!
