Quite possibly the most hideous weight loss idea I’ve heard of recently has to be a pump that quite literally sucks the food out of your stomach after you’ve eaten it.
If you thought that fasting, liposuction or the Dukan Diet were harsh, the latest amazing idea has been dreamed up by the people who brought us the Segway machine. Not content with sticking to daft methods of transport they want to offer ‘help’ to morbidly obese people, and have applied for a patent for their new weight loss machine.
It was invented by Dean Kamen, who is seriously now working on the idea with a team from Aspire Bariatrics, of Philadelphia, to come up with a device that somehow sucks all the excess food and drink directly out of the stomach of obese people. According to the report in The Independent, It’s supposed to give people the chance to eat whatever they like and still lose weight, because all they would have to do after they’d scarfed down their three course dinner would be connecting the pump to a valve that’s installed in their abdomen.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t quite think of anything more disgusting than emptying your stomach into a bag after every meal. I have a funny feeling that this idea might not prove to be popular, but just in case it turns out to be the next big thing, you heard it here first…
What do you think? Would you use something like this?
