A Super Spa Christmas

A Super Spa Christmas
A Super Spa Christmas

My last spa break before Christmas was quite possibly the perfect antidote to all the pre- Christmas stress! With a small child getting well and truly over excited about the impending visit from Santa, the present buying (where has the last month gone? I’m sure there’s normally more December before Christmas) and last minute parties and arrangements to be made, getting away for a couple of days to the beautiful De Vere Oulton Hall Hotel and Spa in Leeds was a real treat.

I decided to give the car a rest and let the train take the strain, going up to Leeds on the very fast train from King’s Cross. It was still a long journey and I wasn’t really in the mood for going out in the cold…but all that changed when I got to the hotel and had a nosey around the spa. The welcome I got from the lovely, down to earth staff, from spa manager Debbie to therapists and the super-friendly reception staff and concierge just has to be remarked on as it’s what made my visit for me. Well, that and the enormous suite I stayed in for the night, and the delicious food, the fantastic Vichy Drench treatment and the pretty, pretty pink Jessica Geleration nails I walked out with the next morning.

I’ve never felt so welcome and so looked-after on a spa break before, and I put it down to a perfect mix of luxurious and comfortable surroundings, the beautiful Christmas decorations, Christmas music and friendly people.

At the moment they are offering a Pamper Me for Christmas Spa Day from just £71 - with full use of all the facilities – including the spa pool and starry sky steam room as well as a massage, facial and nail file and polish. If you’re in the area and want a li’l pre-Christmas chill-time, my advice is to get yourself down there and enjoy the atmosphere. You won’t regret it!
