Schema psychotherapists, media personalities and happy couple Eva and Nik Speakman have been working together since the 1980s, successfully curing the often lifelong, phobias and negative behavioural patterns of their clients.
Their revolutionary treatment, Schema Conditioning Therapy™, has been described by ITV’s This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as “ground-breaking and genius”. This popular daytime show saw the duo cure a woman of her fear of hearing people eat, and a mother’s irrational fear of buttons live on air (among many other successes), propelling them to celebrity status. A TV series has also documented the Speakmans’ success in helping a young girl to beat her near-fatal anorexia.
SpaSeekers knows how important self-pampering is for our customers, to help relieve the worries caused by everyday life. Who better to discuss the psychological effects of beauty treatments with than the beautiful Eva? SpaSeekers’ interview with her below also sees Eva discussing some of her own personal favourite beauty treatments and products.
Whether at work or play, most women are instinctively multi-tasking, making it difficult to stop, relax and unwind. Reserving even just one hour for pampering creates some well-deserved 'me time' which is hugely beneficial for a woman's state of mind. This personal time allows total switch-off, a positive recharge and timeout to relax and forget everyday stresses.
Self-conceived flaws are primarily caused by comparing ourselves to others; those “others” usually being the subjects of unrealistic, airbrushed magazine photos. A great way to appreciate yourself is to imagine stepping into the body of someone who loves you and seeing yourself through their eyes. Another useful tip is to alter your terminology and give yourself positive affirmations. For example, if you don't like your nose and regularly slate it, alter your words to "my nose is great for breathing & I couldn't live without it".
"There's only one person that's going to be with me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and for the rest of your life, and that's you, so…I love you, respect you and today you will be the best you can be."
L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess mascara. Everyone looks at your eyes when talking to you so I love my mascara! It makes my eyes look bigger and gives great flutter-ability!
My favourite indulgence is to undergo an amazing facial with my regular therapist Lee Garrett at Freedomhealth Skin (Harley Street). It's a great way to relax, and this well-deserved treat makes my skin look and feel amazing.
The biggest beauty sin is not drinking enough water! Dehydration leads to a sluggish metabolism, lethargy, blocked pores, wrinkles and unhealthy organs. Women should be sure to keep hydrated to look and feel fantastic.
Feeling, looking and thinking my best! That means eating healthily, going to the gym, drinking lots of water, making sure there are no negative thoughts running through my head, and setting and meeting daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals. Oh, and beauty treatments along the way to make me feel fantastic, of course!
