A work colleague and me were lucky enough to be gifted a spa day by our boss as a thank you for our hard work (very hard work at times lol). We arrived and found the experience to be very well organised, with every member off staff knowing and fulfilling their roles very efficiently. The welcome toast and coffee was lovely, could feel us starting to relax immediately, we also enjoyed our lunch which was very filling. If we have one criticism it would be that we both ordered the firmest massage (due to our stress levels !) my colleague is very, very tiny (size 4 clothing) she did find the massage received quite brutal! The masseur did ask if she was ok but we did wonder with someone so tiny perhaps she should have toned the strength down to suit..... On saying that we did enjoy our stay very much and are hoping to return.(She will however plump for a lighter massage...….).
I’ve been to Moor Hall a couple of times now and I can already say I’m looking forward to a return visit. My first experience was a day at the spa and I recently enjoyed a long weekend there as well. The place is lovely, very friendly, well laid-out, stylish but not too formal. I strongly recommend the spa, where I had a couple of fab treatments. And I can’t wait to go back again to the Oak Room restaurant to sample the tastiest steaks for a second time. Great food, great spa, great hotel – what’s not to love?
The staff were very friendly and professional.
We had an opportunity to participate in fitness activities of Pilates and Aqua-aerobics as well as enjoy the Spa facilities and a selected treatment (which was excellent).
The only downside was the changing facilities and the area designated for Day Spa Customers would benefit from a refurbishment. There was a leaking roof (in the tea/dining area) and the space felt sub-standard. Staff attendance was also very infrequent and we were left waiting a considerable time for service.
