I’d never been to a Bannatyne club before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I visited Bannatyne Chingford for the first time. I have to admit I was blown away by the place, partly because it’s the most modern health club I’d ever been to. Everything about the place is geared to making you feel welcome, and I especially loved the spa, where I enjoyed a massage that took all my stresses and strains away. I work in an office that’s close to the club, so I have a feeling I will be coming back time and time again in the near future. I certainly hope so. If you haven’t been yet, I’d recommend that you do so soon. It’s something else!

I did a full day of spa yesterday, along with body massage. The gym overall was spacious, clean and state of the art equipment. I am a gym freak and this was one of the biggest I have seen, with plenty of parking space outside, massive main training area with extra spacious rooms for classes and a separate wing for massage, relaxation and further treatments. The aqua space was sufficient as well. A large swimming pool - but for the number of people in it I think a couple of extra lanes would be better - along with a sauna room, a steam room and a Jacuzzi.
Along the swimming pool there were the usual beds for taking a rest but I found these really uncomfortable. Their structure do not allow you to lay down without feeling a wood disturbing your back. It's the only reason I am not giving the place 5 stars.
In terms of services I was happy overall. Staff were polite and helpful.
If I lived in the area I would get a monthly subscription.
