Woodhall Spa I visit Woodhall Spa about 3 times per year. Its a small spa in comparison to some hotels and only has 2 treatment rooms. The pool is small but the steam room and jacuzzi are well appointed and all are generally well maintained. The lounge area is lovely looking over rolling Yorkshire hills but the seating and loungers are limited. This is not a problem when its not too busy but the areas are used by hotel gym members so it can get a little cramped sometimes. The changing rooms are cramped and not particularly well appointed. The best feature of this spa are the staff - always very pleasant and accommodating. The treatments they deliver are fabulous and that is what I keep going back for.The food is generally good but very expensive if not included in the package price and the menu is quite limited. Overall, Woodhall is good for those looking for a quieter day spa experience. |

Great location but several niggles Fantastic location and attentive beauticians but some niggles meant our day at The Devonshire Arms last year was more enjoyable. These included: (a) there were only 4 chairs for the whole swimming pool so, when told that there weren't any others, the only thing I could do (with their permission) was to bring in 2 metal chairs from outside which were fine but not that relaxing (b) the swimming pool is rather small (c) the spa could do with a 'chill out' room as this would mean it was less claustrophic (d) although lunch was ordered for 12.30, it only arrived at 12.55 despite me checking whether we had been forgotten (e) my lunch was extremely nouveau cuisine - opt for a burger rather than a light lunch as it was more like a small starter (delivious dessert though!) (f) there is no privacy outside - hotel guests were walking past as we were sitting outside in our white robes. |

Beautiful and relaxing My friend and I stayed at Woodhall for a relaxing spa break this weekend. Wwe enjoyed our stay and were impressed at the excellent service. The room was beautiful and the staff both in the hotel and the spa were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be booking again and will recommend it to all our friends and family. A really lovely hotel in a peaceful setting. |

Fantastic! I booked in on the pamper day . I arrived at 10 and had some tea in the nice reception/lounge area before joining the aqua aerobics class which was great- then I had a very nice lunch in the spa and my treatments started at 13. I am 22 wks pregnant so they adapted the package to suit me and I felt really pampered the whole time. Plenty of great service from the staff- endless glasses of cranberry juice, fluffy robe and slippers, watercooler and post menu choices at a private table for me! (You can choose to have lunch in the main dining area of the hotel- but i preferred to stay in my bathrobe)I can't comment on the hot tub or steam room (no good for preggers) but everything was immaculate.The only down fall in the small (i mean tiny changing area which is combined with the toilet and showers so for most of the day I"m sure its not an issue- but its cramped during the aqua class! |

A fantastic day I had the supreme pamper day. I was well looked after from the start, and with the same therapist all day, there was great continuity of treatment. My therapist was excellent - each course of treatment lasting the full alloted time, and starting on time. I was allowed to pick my times for treatments so I could take advantage of the other facilities. The spa is quite small, but very well looked after and with all the facilities you need. The lunch was superb, with a great choice on the menu and a choice of two courses, either starter and main or main & dessert. The food was1st class and served promptly - I recommend having it in the spa lounge so you can stay in your robe rather than going to the hotel dining room. Staff were always on hand to provide anything you wanted and there was complimentary tea & coffee all day. The hotel is also superb in a great setting. I'd definitely go back. |

Relaxation and Revival I went for a spa day with my daughter. We had an all-over body massage which was very relaxing. The staff took time to explain the treatment and encouraged us to give feedback. It was pleasant to relax around the pool area and we enjoyed the steamroom.However, the cleanliness and conditions in the changing room were less than satisfactory. There was a problem with flushing the one toilet on the day we visited and the showers are rather basic. This is the one aspect which lets the place down. |

Beautiful Location Upon driving up the narrow lane you're greeted with the most amazing view - Wood Hall nestling atop a hill overlooking fields below. Wood Hall itself is very grand. Upon arriving we were greeted well by the staff and shown through to the spa. Whilst it's not got the biggest lounge area around the pool, there was enough room to relax and read when not dipping in the pool, jacuzzi or steam rooms. Overall a lovely day in a lovely location, the treatments were as you'd expect and staff were friendly. To take this from a 4* to a 5* it would be great to see the sumptuousness of Wood Hall Hotel transferred into the spa chill out / lounge area. |
