Description

Affectionately known as ‘The White Palace’, the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, East Sussex, is the country’s only five-star coastal hotel. Situated on the seafront at Eastbourne, it dominates the shoreline and enjoys a stunning outlook over the sea and, to the right, the cliffs at Beachy Head. The Grand is undoubtedly one of the UK’s most iconic Victorian hotels, yet behind the historic facade lies an exclusive and luxurious health and beauty retreat offering a host of contemporary therapies and classic pampering treats.

Accommodation

Each of the 152 rooms and suites at the Grand Hotel has been individually designed with care and style, offering guests extreme comfort in an exceptional setting. Room facilities include satellite television with radio and teletext, direct dial telephone with voice mail, digital clock radio, Broadband Internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press, hairdryer, gently carbonated and still mineral water, luxurious en suite bathroom with fluffy toweling bathrobes and a selection of luxury Molton Brown toiletries. All rooms are served by 24 hour room service. Some rooms have stunning sea views whilst others have four poster beds and spa baths.

Cuisine

Food at The Grand Hotel is renowned for its excellence and has won us many awards. We have two restaurants, the Mirabelle and Garden Restaurants where you can look forward to outstanding cuisine and fine wines served in relaxed settings. Our Garden Restaurant seats 180 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in highly graceful surroundings. The cuisine in the Garden restaurant is based on the highest standards of traditional English cuisine with a modern interpretation. The Mirabelle Restaurant has been awarded 2AA rosettes and serves lunch and dinner in wonderfully warm and intimate surroundings featuring cutting edge cuisine.

Relaxation & Pampering

The health club and spa has superb facilities for keep-fit, health and beauty treatments or simply a spot of blissful relaxation. It has the added benefit of a hair salon and make-up studio, so you can be pampered from top to toe and walk out ready for a special occasion or night out. On arrival you leave the outside world far behind as you’re greeted by liveried doormen and walk through the magnificent Great Hall to the spa, which has 8 treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool that’s open year-round, large air-conditioned gym, whirlpool spa, sauna and a sheltered outdoor pool open during the summer.

Exercise & Activities

Leisure at The Grand Hotel is as active or slow as you want it to be. Whatever the weather, the sea is always there to greet you, an invigorating sight at any time of year. Beyond the town, there is magnificent walking, both coastal and inland on the rolling South Downs and in the Cuckmere Valley.

Timeout

Exploring Eastbourne and the surrounding countryside offers a wealth of diverse interests to appeal to all, including historic houses and castles, opera, sports, famous gardens, local wines, fascinating towns and villages and simply spectacular scenery. The Grand is grand
The hotel is splendid and set in a lovely location. The spa was clean and tidy. Endless supply of fluffy towels. It could benefit from larger changing facilities and the swimsuit spindryer wasn't working. The hotel guests have access to the Spa's indoor pool and there were quite a few children there which was the only down side really.

    brilliant spa day out
we had a mother and daughter pamper day,and we enjoyed every minute. The hotel was beautiful and our lunch was tasty and served on the sunny terrace. In the spa the staff were attentive and helpful .Our facial and massage were very relaxing.unfortunately our nail treatments were a bit rushed as they were done at the end of the day and my daughters smudged as they were'nt dry when we left. We loved our day though and we would definately go back to the Grand at Eastbourne.

    couldn't do enough
on arrival we were all treated with the graciousness and kindness. we were left to enjoy the pool, steam room, sauna and whirlpool. my daughter, sister and i were asked to chose our lunch and because it was such a glorious day , the staff went out of their way to ensure we ate on the terrace which was absolutely beautiful. lunch itself was flawless! our treatments then continued into the afternoon and again nothing was too much trouble for the staff. i would and already have recommend this venue for anybody's special treat!
