Great Day Out! I chose a spa day for my mum�s birthday and got a great deal. Use of all spa facilities plus a back and neck massage, prescription facial, and manicure or pedicure including a light lunch. The only thing not included was a drink, but there was a bar available. We were shown around the facilities in the morning, given our robes and were free to do as we pleased. The pool was gorgeous, quiet, relaxing and the sauna and steam room were in the same room so you could swap between them all. All facilities including showers and toilets were lovely and clean. Our treatments in the afternoon were better than expected, all went into separate rooms which were the perfect temperature and I was told exactly what she was doing and what to expect... I could have fallen asleep, felt comfortable and kept my dignity perfectly in tact. All in all we would highly recommend this spa experience to anybody. Good all round Stayed in mid January for an over night Spa Day as a couple.Greeted very politely and efficiently by the receptionist, who had no problems with rearranging our treatments, and rebooking our evening meal due to the fact we were running late.The room (upgraded double) was a fair size, clean with a good heating system, a wide screen TV with pay per view films (non of which to really shout about) and the robes and slippers was a nice touch. Paper thin walls though, so we could hear everything going on next door...The greeting in the spa was also very welcoming, we were also early for that! But they accommodated us very well by giving us robes and escorting us to the "Relaxation Room" with very nice mood lighting, and a wonderful aroma through the air conditioning. Great treatment, not much we can really say about that as we were so relaxed we were almost asleep!! But the staff are extremely polite, and well trained; with all there qualifications on show, they even asked me if I would prefer a scalp massage instead of a facial as it was more manly, I obviously went for the massage.... Facility's within the spar were good, apart from the lack of a jacuzzi, you get all the normal things that you'd expect, sauna, steam room, ice shower (still haven't got a clue what that's for) etc. Oh, and make sure you have a pound for the lockers!!The food in the main restaurant was superb, something on the menu for every one. We both went for the same, pressed chicken and ham terrine with fresh berry chutney, and fettuccine carbonara for main, both perfect, portion sizes being just right.Good buffet style "eat as much as you like" breakfast with a wide selection of breads, cereals, quassants, tea and coffee, and of course the full English! Check out was just as easy as check in, we knew how much we had on the bill at the end before we paid because there was a facility on the TV that allowed us to view the bill, so avoided any shocks there.All in all an extremely pleasant stay, that me and my fianc�e would definitely recommend for a nice treat! Chill out day I was given a spa day for 2 as a present & chose to go with my friend as a chill out day.Overall the day was just as we'd hoped (really relaxing & we both felt quite spoilt), but a couple of niggles made it less than a 5 star rating.To start with, we had trouble finding the way in, as the hotel & golf club has an assortment of entrances & limited signage; once we were in, at one point one of us had to let the other through to the other part of the spa as a linking door had been locked so you couldn't get back through the reception without a pass code. When we were in the spa, the experience shower wasn't working, though there was plenty of other stuff to do (though we were disappointed there was no jacuzzi. Another member expressed his disappointment to us about this too, as he'd been led to believe one was due to be installed when he joined). Lunch, which was included was also a disappointment - we were given no choice of lunch, just some sandwiches that were brought to us. Another couple, who were staying overnight on a spa break told us they'd been given a choice of meals from the menu as long as it was within a certain price range, which would have been much better.Having got the niggles out of the way, we did really enjoy the day & the staff were lovely & couldn't have been more helpful. The members & visitors we spoke to were also really friendly & made us feel very welcome. I'd recommend it, but be sure of what the day includes so that it meets your expectations.
